D. R. Hill Middle School

The principles are trying to make a middle school like an elementary. My child is closer to hight school than elementary. There is no point for my child to be walking in line in middle school.

Watch your kids! My daughter just informed me that yesterday and today edibles had been passed out at the school. The schools aware as kids went to the nurse both days, yet the school DIDNT notify all children's parents so we could be aware and talk with our kids.

My son is in 7th grade; the teachers have been phenomenal. Without fail, they've communicated with us openly, offering guidance and support. (Admittedly, 7th grade is a tough year!) I do find the Principal to be somewhat lacking in communication. There was a pretty radical incident that happened in December 2018; I reached out to the Principal because I wasn't happy with the way the situation was handled and wanted to talk about it. I left several messages without a single call-back. I do need to give a shout-out to the coordinators of the Washington DC trip - it was extremely short, when you look at everything we crammed in to those few days, but I felt like the coordinators did their best to give everyone a really amazing time. I think DR Hill is a good school, but we do try to be very involved. I will say that I believe it's harder as parents to know what assignments kids have, and what they're working on, with the laptops. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I miss paper! And, I feel that my son had a TON of homework this past 7th grade year!

DR Hill Middle School is an amazing institution of continuous learning for teachers as well as students. Teacher are held to a high standard of teaching and students are expected to behave, whether they are a "straight A student" or not. Learning takes place every day. I would send any child of mine to DRH for a great educational experience!
