Joseph Gaudet Academy

Between two kids, we have spent the last four years at Aquidneck Elementary and it is the BEST school in Middletown. It is SO sad that this school is going to be gone in a couple years because the administration and all the teachers are truly focused on what is in the students’ best interest. The teachers have become family- they go out of their way to attend the kids’ extracurricular activities outside of school!!! Where have you ever seen this happen?!? The kids at this school are all the kindest. We will truly miss this school since our daughter is aging out (it is only Prek to third grade). Great friends were made at this school. The curriculum is decent- the teachers assign just the right amount of homework and they make learning fun in the classroom.

It IS A Great School That I am In

Nothing but positives things to say about SMCDS. We have been here for 5 years at the point and would never think about sending our children anywhere else. It is their second home.

The only thing good about this school are the primary teachers. Middle school has few kids. There are under 10 students in 8th. More importantly is the lack of capable administrators. The head is a parent pleaser and will say/do anything. Has zero personality and should have retired long ago. The school needs a young forward thinking leader. Hopefully new board members will come along and see the nothing he adds to the school.

In January 2021 I yanked my children out of Pell which they despised. I transferred them to another public school system which involves 100 miles of driving per day and $6k/yr/kid. It is well worth the time and money as the kids literally run from the car to be the first in line every morning.why would a parent want to send their child to Pell which has one of the worst ratings in Rhode Island
