Prospect Park School

The school could be benefit from a more established team of administrators. The district is unable to hire and retain good administration across the board (except for the KA building). Very little parent involvement outside of the very uninclusive Home and School. The education is very vanilla with little diversity. Kids are unhappy, staff turnover is high and there is a lot of favoritism that happens.

Excellent schools, a wonderful director, Professor Robert Kelly, excellent teachers. I thank their wonderful efforts to take care of children and build the future with more education.

If it gives any indicator- we are moving to another school district altogether than deal with this nonsense. This will take years to recover from. Not happy at all. Would not recommend. Unless you're wealthy enough to donate. They seem to put your kid on a pedestal if you can donate to them.

they will take advantage of your signing a permission slip at the beginning of the year to allow your kids to leave the classroom to collect leaves to take your kids on mini field trips and not contact you about it. they left the classroom to go 3 blocks away (crossing busy streets) without asking or notifying parents before hand. when asked why they couldn't be bothered to send a note or notice (or even mention it in their agenda) i was told that it wasn't school policy. do NOT trust these people with your kids. be careful what you sign. they will take advantage of the wording.

I feel this school offers the family feeling! Teachers are willing to support children anyway possible. Majority of time the children get along and are friendly. Always smiles and respectful children when you walk through the halls!
