Oakland School

Principal is awful. Teachers are lazy and very poor. There is a tense feeling in the school. Principal (Crenshaw) is arrogant and bossy.

My daughter completed K-2nd grade here before we moved from the area. Almost all of her teachers were wonderful. I liked that they had an arts and music program and that all of the kids were very welcoming to one another. We did have an issue with one of the 2nd grade teachers but other than her our experience was pretty great. their after school program was also well run.

I completed my student teaching placement at the Campus Lab School. What I experienced was genuinely upsetting. Teachers gossip about students, academics are sub par and all scripted, and administration is sloppy. There is a serious increase in behaviors and struggling academics for students after they move up from Kindergarten that I’ve directly witnessed throughout my years as a Carlow student. Behaviors are managed through yelling or irrational consequences. Please be advised that this is not an environment that allows children to flourish long term, and that YouTube is a primary teacher in this building.

I attended Winchester Thurston from 4th grade to 12th grade. I loved almost every teacher I worked with and felt very well prepared for collage. The school dealt with bulling well and taught the students respect and compassion. The student to teacher ratio was perfect for me and class sizes were excellent. I can say that i truly loved my experience at WT

Three of my grandchildren have or are now attending this school with the fourth starting this fall. They have all received an excellent education, and more importantly found a welcoming, spiritual and nurturing environment in which to learn.
