Read what parents are saying about Immanuel Lutheran SchoolI have some good memories of ILS, such as field days at Burholme Park, field trips, Christmas pageants, and the friends and teachers I bonded with. The fact that I was harshly mistreated by my own teachers, the people I looked up to, is unacceptable, and the fact that the principal ignored or rejected my pleas for help is just evil. If you had a great experience at ILS, I’m really happy for you, but this school was practically a living hell for me. I’m so happy I left when I did in 2012 because the school I attended up to my senior year of high school after ILS was far better in all these aspects.
Posted by a community member on 2/3/2020It's sad to see this school go, however I want to leave a message to any teacher that maybe looking at this. My time at ILS was amazing thanks to you guys. The education here was amazing but more importantly, this school really made me into ,what I think is, a good person. I had so many fond memories here that will stick with me forever. Thank you all.

Posted by a principal on 3/31/2016ILS equipped me with knowledge and experience others missed out on before entering high school. I transferred into ILS for 5th through 8th grade, after attending my local public school, and the difference was immediately recognizable. It was apparent to me, as a 5th grader, that the teachers were determined to teach so that every student understood and was challenged. I cherish my middle school education. I felt capable, entering Central High School. A lot of my high school friends didn't feel the same. To this day, I am grateful for the sense of aptitude ILS gave me. Each year was filled with so many wonderful memorable things!
Posted by a community member on 1/27/2016I've previously attended Immanuel Lutheran School from kindergarten to eighth grade and the knowledge I received from all of those years still sticks with me. During the years from kindergarten to fifth grade I have had wonderful teachers that left a positive impact on my life. They were all very sweet and I still think of those years as the best years of my life. Although, when I reached middle school, things quickly changed and I lost touch with the new teachers. There was a lot of bullying going on in my class that was ignored by the teachers, and I felt that some of our teachers did not know how to handle us. Considering I was in a very small class, many teachers acted unprofessional when serving punishments. In some incidents, they were even given out unfairly. Plus, I have seen my fair share of favoritism throughout my academic career at Immanuel. I have to say, my general opinion about ILS is that it is a very good school and I do not regret going there. I just wish there were things that could have been done differently for my class and the students in other grades.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been attending this school since Kindergarten and is now and the 5th grade. I do not feel that he has learned as much academically nor do I feel that all of the staff have the best interest at heart for the black children in this school. When incidents occur they are not prompt, they do not call if your child was involved in an incident. The supervision is lacking as teachers are often unaware of incidents that occur. Bullying should not be tolerated however, it occurs with little to no repercussion. The principal shows no concern when you bring forth issues. There is a lot of racial undertones. I’m looking elsewhere for my child to attend next school year. I pay a lot of money for quality education and a safe environment and I’m not receiving it.Parent Review2y ago - Gospel of Grace Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from Presentation 4 years ago. From my experience I could not ask for a better elementary school. I attended Presentation from Preschool through 8th grade. I was able to excel in high school because of how well I was prepared from the education I received from Presentation. It's a very diverse school and gives each student the opportunity to succeed. I'm in college now and looking back on my experience, I am grateful for everything I learned and from the unconditional support I received from my teachers. I always felt comfortable, safe and happy at this school. I would encourage any parent looking for a school to send them to Presentation.Other Review5mo ago - Resurrection Regional Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSaint Cecilia School opened its doors for the 2020/2021 school year on September 9, 2020, meanwhile all of the Philadelphia public schools remained closed due to the COVID restrictions. This Catholic city school in Philadelphia in the Northeast provides busing for students. The mandated safety measures are in place and working. The love and care for students in the school is a point of pride. Children are welcomed early for breakfast, hot school lunches are provided, after school care is affordable with homework help, snacks, games and outdoor activities. Technology includes live classroom meetings for learning in every grade for every subject. Innovative technology, communications, and academics are solid, and it shows in the education of the young people who attend and graduate. Parents are able to go back to work and not worry about their children. Children are able to attend live or virtual classes tailored to their personal needs. A new year of classes has resumed, the students started without delay on January 4, 2021. Last point of pride is the new administration, best ever! A great school.Parent Review3y ago - Resurrection of Our Lord School
