Rainbow Express Preschool

We have been a corpus family for 11 years. It has been a wonderful experience. I do feel in order to get the most from the school you do need to be engaged and volunteer. It allows the opportunity to know families, teachers and administration. Corpus has prepared my children for high school and beyond.

The mission of the school sounds great and it was one of the things that lured my family in . Over the past few years there have been some changes and most of them have been for the better . However, previous posters who mentioned the "cliques" and "favorite" families is spot on and it's alive & well at Mater Dei. My child has been bullied, ridiculed and has been unheard by the staff & leadership because the child that is doing the bullying is very involved in the school & church and they don't want to lose their loyalty. Many teachers have their favorite families, they will choose those children to be leaders & role models for their classmates based on their last names and not merit. So many teachers have left Mater Dei over the past 4 years , For example, BOTH 7th grade (male) teachers worked one school year and left this past year and most of the kids were devastated to not have them as part of their last year at Mater Dei and they had to scramble to replace them as a few who interviewed, changed their mind for a better opportunity. They were both replaced with females who had other roles in the school. Poor communication from teacher/school to parent. Teachers don't answer emails for days Rules (regarding dress codes, absences, etc) only apply to the less favorites. Sloppy uniforms , Girls wear make up , boys hair is long and shaggy and nothing is enforced.We are looking forward putting this whole experience behind us. The leadership & staff needs a makeover and the school needs to get with the times and stop keeping their head in the sand
