Mediocre at best. The current 6th and particularly 8th grade teachers are very poor. The facilities, as already mentioned, are horrific. They claim to have plans to improve which results in a 10% + annual tuition increase! There are many better alternatives [public and private] in this area.

My children were both lifers at Upland, until recently. Everything I share is our experience, however I do believe this is a pattern that exists for many involved with UCDS. We removed our child from the school due to chronic bullying. We tried for almost 2 years to work with the admin, believing we were heard, things were being worked on inside and behind the scenes. It became clear that nothing was done or anything that was done was not effective. We escalated our concerns a number of times, deeply concerned that the culture was unsafe. The bullying was spoiling her ability to be educated and the school was not open to recognizing and working on the issue. There are so many teachers and coaches that were supportive and helpful, however the culture has changed over the 12 years we have been there. We have witnessed significant attrition due to cultural shift, wishing this wasn't so.We believe there is a lot of promise for Upland if they open up and hear what families are sharing.
