As an alumnus, I would like to remember the great times and memories that I had in my seven years of schooling. However, all of this gets overshadowed by the constant bullying and harassment I and others have withstood throughout the years. The constant bullying by the students set me back years socially and I had to teach myself the social skills that I should have been taught in grade school. The administration never gave out proper punishment for bullying. Certain students should have got disciplined for the acts that they committed at the school, but either the students had no confidence to tell them that they were being bullied, or they gave minimal "behavior mark" punishments for bad behavior. These marks would give you five to ten chances to stir up trouble. When the new administration came in, the problems became somewhat better, as the principal at the time gave out proper punishments, but sometimes to the wrong people who were not involved. There was a lot of discrimination hidden within the school system as well, it seemed that people of color were marginalized and singled out since it is a predominately white school. Because of this, my beliefs were not the best for a while, but now I have grown to accept diversity and inclusion in society. I had no issue with the education, I believe the teachers did a marvelous job shaping me into the person I am today, but the social hierarchy at the school made me afraid to speak up and come out of my shell. Overall, if the constant bullying problems for the seven years I went to the school were eradicated earlier on, and the school emphasized diversity and inclusion with a balance of Catholic beliefs, I would say I am proud to go to St. Albert the Great.

As a parent I am so happy with the new direction SATG is taking. They are trying to be different and not just your typical old fashioned catholic school as it was in the past.

I had one child who went through and the principal was wonderful. 7 years later and the culture is one of fear and intolerance. I pulled my child and will be looking for a new parish

Other than the fact that my bullying issues were not dealt with, this school was a wonderful experience for learning and leadership. It was almost like it was a factory.
