Read what parents are saying about Edison Elementary SchoolMy two boys have attended this school since kindergarten (grades 3 & 4 now) and the teachers are really nice and caring. Although the school is not in tip top shape as other districts I have visited, the boys love their school and teachers. I am very hopeful for the future of the school and its students. The principal, Mr. Harper certainly shows interest in the well-being of the school and its students and the PTA has various activities throughout the year for both parents and children alike. I really feel that the school deserves a pat on the back for striving for its children and community as a public school. - Proud Edison Mom

We have had a large change in culture in our school. We have students that are working hard in the community through the Kiwanis Kids program along with many other community based initiatives to help the students make better choices. We do have a Bullying program here in our school and we are striving to not only stopping bullying in the school, but to extend our program to the community. If you would like to take a tour of the school or meet some of the staff, we are having a "Meet and Greet" on August 21st 2012 from 4:30 - 7:00 in our cafeteria. Anyone in the Edison Community is welcome to hear more about our school and our efforts to change the perception of our school!

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a substitute teacher and Diehl is lacking in a lot of areas. Substitute teachers like myself come to this school to help out when the permanent teachers are out. On that note we come to give assistance to Diehl to try to make the day easier on all the faculty. Most of the students that I have met at the school are nice, and very very few teachers are also. Most of the faculty/administration are a different story. Very few teachers are willing to be welcoming, helpful or even nice to substitutes and most of the administration is the same way. One time I was waiting to be helped and I was completely ignored, the certain administrative person was to busy talking about fishing. The secretary is a major issue, she treats substitutes like they are below her precious self. I know that I don't appreciate being treated that way and other substitutes don't either. I am never coming back to Diehl to substitute, I will go to any other school, but never this one again.Other Review8y ago - Lincoln El School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Wayne for 7th and 8th grades (I am a graduate student now). Although the discipline was definitely an issue, I felt that it never got in the way of my learning experience. If a child really wants to learn, nothing can stand in his/her way. I enjoyed attending Wayne for middle school. I learned a lot and made friends, whom I still keep in touch with! :)Other Review13y ago - Pfeiffer-Burleigh El School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child went to HFS and has since transferred to one of the Erie public schools. Say what you want about public schools, but at least the curriculum is excellent. The learning material is up to date, and the teachers are great! My child is so far behind after going to HFS' he is now having to stay after school in order to catch up. He got straight A's at HFS because it was too easy. Some of the teachers shouldn't be teaching. I wasted so much money paying for my kids to go there to get a mediocre education. I wish I would've pulled them out sooner. I'm warning you don't send your kids there but if you do, make sure they have some sort of tutor to teach them what they are not learning at HFS because trust me the curriculum is horrible and out dated. Also, make sure you are talking to your child daily about what is going on at that school because my children have had some negative and inappropriate experiences with teachers and principal. Not to mention they will embarrass the heck out of your child if you are late paying tuition. Very inappropriate. Just sayin.Parent Review10y ago
