Valor Middle School

This school has a wonderful staff of teachers and everybody in the office. They are great in communicating with parents and they have great school spirit. My kids have challenging homework and they were always happy attending school.

I am very happy to see the 4 star rating for Valor from parents, though we are always working to make that 5 stars. However, I do not understand a "Great Schools" rating of 3 out of 10. Valor Middle School has met AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) goals the last two years, and in 2009 was recognized by the state for our incredible progress in closing the achievement gap. A rating of 30% for a school that has brought its test scores up by 40-50% in the past 6 years calls into question the system used for rating.
