Clara Brownell Middle School

I have definitely experienced both amazing experiences and not the best. In terms of IEP meetings and working with the IEP team for my son.. I have been shut down or not taken seriously and my concerns or requests have gone completely unaddressed or immediately shutdown. As a parent of a child with a learning disability as well as a severe phonological and processing disorder it’s very upsetting to not be taken seriously. I do not like how they’d rather say “it’s not fair to other students if we give your child these things in class.” What’s not fair is giving every single child these same exact opportunities for success even if that means more accommodations for some. Every child deserves the chance and opportunity for success and I don’t think this school the IEP department anyways has understood that.
