Read what parents are saying about West Salem High School3 kids all graduated and went on to Oregon state and 2 to Portland state. The third one was a challenge, as a concerned parent i met with a vice principal, who helped put my son on a plan to graduate, and it worked. They are excellent in making sure your child is ready for the next level.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2023My son has special needs and this school has dropped the ball on testing him. Sticking to his 504 and letting him fail two years in a row without reaching out to me the parent. I have been trying to get my son help through this school and they do nothing. I had a teacher tell me it wasn’t his job to stop and help the struggling students. Absolutely discouraging my son and myself. I’m having to get an advocate to hold this school accountable. So beware it’s not a good high school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son goes here. The teachers, daycare providers and principal are compassionate, engaged and communicate beautifully with parents. I get daily updates, and they are so sweet! Since school started 4 months ago, I've seen drastic improvement in his development and behavior. This is a faith based school and as you can imagine, they don't tolerate nonsense but they do so in a way that is caring, appropriate and that which applies to the age of the student. It's a collaborative effort between parents and staff. My son also has an iminent ADHD diagnosis and they are big on keeping in communication with me to problem solve what works and doesn't work during difficult times. Because of this consistency, he's flourishing! Best decision I have made, sending him here. Zero regrets.Parent Review4mo ago - St Joseph School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe curriculum and small class sizes are great. The overall environment is another story. Many students are railroaded out of this school for not fitting their mold, which is perfect appearing on the outside but lacking character and morals on the inside. There is no authenticity here. We watched it happen many times over. For a Christian school there is a serious lack of Christian behavior and attitudes. Some teachers are great while others are not, but the real problems are with the administrators. They have no tolerance for anyone or anything different and set a tone that creates an atmosphere of bullying from the top down. This school has a corrupted sense of Christianity that highlights the worst of human nature. I’m sorry to say it but we’ve found more Christian love and welcome outside of this school than in it. While you will not see much in the way of physical violence in this school, the discrimination and bullying from staff and administrators is echoed in the favored students. If your children complain of bullying from staff believe them and move on.Parent Review8mo ago - Capital Christian School
