The K-8 experience has been good. The school recently included the Sparrow program which has motivated kids to help others.
Posted by a parent on 3/3/2020Ok so I hate this school so much the students are rude and bully everyone they see and I don't think it's fair that people are telling this site it's a great school...... I hate this school never in a million years will I send my kids to this school
Posted by a community member on 8/13/2014this is such a awesome school!!!!!!!!! there are 3 difrent bands [5th grade band 6th grade jazz band 7/8 tiger band] the teachers rock 7 and 8th graders get a chance to go to japan!!! kidsthat need help or are exeding they can put your kid in a special club there is a play everyyear 5-8 can go try o

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is such a great school! I have kiddos in preschool, now pre-kindergarten, and first grade and this is thier first year at this school. I could not be happier! Both my boys love going to school here and really enjoy the after care program. My 1st grader had a hard time at his last school because most of the kids knew eachother already and would not play with him. He had an amazing teacher there but even her attempts to help keep him from sitting alone during recess were not successful. He was hesitant in starting a new school. I was so ecstatic when he came back from his first day at HVJA with a HUGE smile telling me about all his new friends!!! The kids here are friendly and VERY accepting of new kids. I have even watched how wonderful they are towards other kids with disabilities. Likewise the parents have been very friendly and encouraging offering help if needed. The teachers here are friendly and are great with the kids. They have art, P.E., music, piano lessons if you want, a library, full gym, before and after care if needed, and daily hot lunch options.
