Read what parents are saying about Lincoln Elementary SchoolI went there all of elementary school and I never regretted it. The teachers are so kind and would never raise their voice unless necessary.

Posted by a parent on 7/28/2023I'm 60 now. I went to Lincoln way back when i was 116th grade then. Moved south town from Franklin wear I was I 5th grade. It was the last year 6th was in elementary schools before Middle Schools began. There were too many kids in both 6th grade classes there at Lincoln. There was no room for me. I sat on the upturn garbage can for a week before they had a brilliant plan to place me in the not so crowded 5th grade. I wasn't held back but put back. I learned nothing I needed to know in 6th grade to prepare me for 7th, as is the way it is from grade to grade. The next year came. Thinking I'd be placed in the 6th with my 2nd 5th grade friends, 509j put me straight thru to 7th. I knew nothing I was supposed to learn to prepare me for 7th grade. I began failing immediately. Teachers had no patience for me. Fs and Ds. I didn't even have the chance to catch up. 8th was worse. Once I got to 9th at CHS, I didn't even try. 2 time drop out. Denied 6th grade. Thanks a lot 509j. I never had a chance .
Posted by a community member on 7/21/2023My experience in the school has always being exceptional. It is very unfair that this school receive such low scores. This is a dual immersion English/Spanish school and the measurements used to determine these scoreS do not take in consideration the context of the school. This is a great school, that because of these scores, is often dismissed or underrated.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur eldest spent only her 8th grade year here after covid lockdowns and it was well worth it. Even just a year had a huge impact on her high school preparation. We have 2 more kids enrolled in the beginning and lower school grades and couldn't be happier with the supportive, enriching environment.Parent Review7mo ago - Corvallis Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is almost 6 and has been at Corvallis Montessori School since he was 17 months old. The difference between him and "non-Montessori" boys is obvious. Despite loving to run constantly and play in a sometimes destructive manner (not in a scary way - just in a little boy way), this child is poised and well mannered. He will meet a new adult and look them in the eye as he tells them his name. He will go to the pool or playground and politely wait his turn. At those public areas, he will help younger children and sometimes remind new children of the rules. These are all things taught at Montessori that sometimes get missed at other places. This nearly 6 year old BOY can read. He is the stereotypical boy who prefers math, and he can do both addition and subtraction. I have to ask him to do it with me at night, but he already knows many of the sight words and can read words with silent e and other complex characters. The reviewer who commented on the "horrible administration" refers to issues that have now been resolved. The school has a new, stable leadership with no anticipated turnover. CMS is like any private school with many highly educated parents. There's no way to make everyone happy all the time. We have chosen to not get involved in the drama, and our child has never been aware that any drama existed. If you want a school that will help your child start elementary school with above average reading and math skills coupled with manners and the ability to practice self-control, then Corvallis Montessori School is for you.Parent Review6y ago - Good Samaritan School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageZion's response to COVID-19 has been extremely impressive. I have appreciated the open communication, multiple safety measure they have taken (adding air filters in each classroom, limiting enrollment, socially distancing at events & in the classroom, etc.) Teachers are very dedicated to their students & working with families to find pathways for the child to be successful in the classroom. Focusing on character development & "the golden rule" creates an atmosphere for students to feel safe & cared for by teachers & peers. Wonderful educational environment!Parent Review3y ago
