Lottery based school means that K is a very large class. They seem to expect attrition as older grades get smaller. It is K to 8. They offer a choice between Spanish and Chinese for study in grades 1 to 8 (K must take both).

I attended the school for 5 years and got to see it grow from a tiny little school in a church basement to a thriving charter school. The test scores may be good, but the way of learning is not at all. I learned almost nothing at this school and not only was I treated like I had no value, the 8th grade

If your child colors outside the lines, they probably aren’t a good fit. There are so many better and amazing options nearby such as St. Agatha, Holy Family and St. John the Apostle. This school has weak leadership and very inexperienced teachers. It is not the same school it was 7 years ago- in fact, there has been a complete turn-over of all staff except one, during this time frame. The turn over of principals over the last 10+ years is probably record breaking (6). The academics do not prepare students for high school and the faculty do the bare minimum for their students with huge disparities and blatant favoritism.
