Read what parents are saying about Summit High SchoolI went here for a short but wonderful 1 1/2 years, left second semester of my sophomore year and I just say, it's a lovely school. The staff is amazing but it does depend on what you look for in staff members, as they're not strict and act like high schoolers themselves while still being kind and helpful. The building is new and one of the most gorgeous I've ever seen, the area surrounding is nature filled and just lovely. Kids do tend to skip, very often, as the staff isn't very strict when it comes down to it unless you skip constantly. It's an open campus which is a score but I have one issue that just makes it hard to give it a perfect rating, and that's the teaching styles. You cover one subject for a VERY LONG TIME, unless in A.P classes, they really draw out the units which honestly made it more difficult for me to learn as I found myself spacing off for days as the teachers went over the same things repeatedly. Besides that, this school is absolutely amazing c:

Posted by a parent on 9/13/2016This school is a reflection of what is wrong with American society. The level of entitlement and narcissism is unbelievable. The students are spoiled and are entitled to everything and they love to put others beneath them. The staff is lazy and rude, and they don't actually care about the students. Yes we do have a good sports program, but the other extracurricular activities are never recognized. The assemblies and dancies are a joke that everybody mocks. The teachers often favor athletes and popular students, and if you are normal they will not want to talk to you.
Posted by a student on 5/28/2016This school is terrible from stuck up kids, to bullying this school cares more about athletics than academics. Worse experience in schooling ever!
Posted by a student on 2/18/2016Speaking from experience, Summit is the worst school you could choose for your child, unless you are extremely wealthy like 90% of the students and their families. The administration is terrible, and look the other way at students with real issues like bullying and depression. The attendance office secretaries laugh and scoff at students and the teachers have cliques just like all of the students. Students who attend Summit are ashamed for it; and assemblies, football games, and dances are a joke. Teachers favor students who are popular and usually athletes. Most people who get bullied at Summit transfer to Bend High, and everyone knows it.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children have attended both the elementary school and middle school at Cascades Academy. My family has grown with the school and have had the opportunity to be a part of its traditions and growth. They take great pride in their values and live them every day. My children have grown to be well rounded, considerate people who still continue to have a love for learning because of the way the school has fostered this in them. They enjoy going to school because their teachers care, but also because they interact with their peers in meaningful ways. Each class allows for students to discuss what they experience and how their research or conversations impact them or the environment around them. Our family feels safe and heard at Cascades Academy and would recommend it to others looking for a caring and positive environment for their children.Parent Review8mo ago - Seven Peaks School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSeven Peaks School is such a gift to our community! The IB program is AMAZING - and offers such unique opportunities to our preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle-school-aged children. It is the only school in our region that offers that continuity of care and academic growth, shaped by the globally-recognized quality of IB instruction. The staff and family community are both vibrant and engaged - my children love walking in those doors each day!Parent Review11mo ago - Three Sisters Adventist Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was such a blessing when we found TSACS through an internet search for “Christian schools” in our area. Every private school was so expensive, and then we visited a Storytime orientation for interested families and were very impressed. We do not attend the home church but they have brought us in like family and worked with us to make the financial obligations affordable. The classes are a blend of grade levels and small enough that the children get the attention they need to succeed. There are about 50 kids that attend the school, so it is truly a family and I know my kids are so very loved by the staff. Kids need role models and people to look up to, the pastors come and help with PE, take them on field trips and give a weekly chapel message on Fridays. The kids learn to co-mingle with kids of all ages and have chapel buddies from a different grade and class. There are so many things to love about this school, it’s hard to sum it up in a paragraph. There are multiple events put on where the children learn a script and act out a play for the family audience. The teachers put so much heart into creating a beautiful set with decorations and costumes. Peter Rabbit, Rainbow Fish and Christmas Angels Aware were some of my favorites. They have an end of the year Talent show and every child has a part, also a Literature fair where the kids do book reports and they showcase many of the projects throughout the year for parents. The school has ski lessons and swimming lessons, plus goes on many field trips throughout the year. They serve at the church and make lunches for the homeless, they put on church services with singing and sermon for the Seventh Day Adventist church, which helps keep the school thriving with prayers and financial donations. The older kids get to go on a trip at the end of the year, this year they went to the beach and an aquarium and last year Seattle to visit the space needle. They go to museums and have fun events in the warmer months with slip n slides and water play. In the winter they went snowshoeing with a forest Ranger and learned about the ecosystem. If you are looking for a safe and loving environment where your child will learn how to love like Jesus, all while living life to the fullest and watching them blossom, this is the school!Parent Review10mo ago - Deschutes River Montessori School
