Nathan Hale High School

This principal and the entire administration cant be trusted. They pull kids aside and tell them they aren't allowed to tell their parents what happens at the school. They protect bullies and shame the kids for telling on the bullies. They have yelled at the children clapped in their faces destroyed their paperwork. Its not a safe place when there is only 2 or 3 people in the whole school that actually has your kids back and protects them/makes the kids feel safe. Do not send your kids here.

We have been here a year now and it's honestly the best school for my children..My son has went from never wanting to get up in the morning to walking to school!!Great school,highly recommend!

locked my student in closets and empty offices for hours on end. Never cared for my student with severe Ptsd and instead contently yelled at her. Her last day there the principle threw my student's bag and other belongings into the trash. My student still suffers mental issues with trusting teachers and principals because of this school. If I could put negative stars I would. As a parent should never have to walk into a school and find half the staff yelling and threatening a 7 year old.I also had a niece go to this school until 5th grade. Her experience was horrible as they never did anything about bullying for her. She also mentioned being related to my student to the principal, instantly got even worse treatment.

Montessori is a wonderful form of education and it is effective in creating an environment that allows children to have internal validation in their works. The teachers will work alongside you to help your child. The teachers are very kind however there are some that could use a bit more training. The problem is the administration, they are ill equipped and under educated to keep up with the demands of running a school. There are promises made but no follow through. There is a lack of communication with parents about important matters but overcommunication with things not as urgent. There is a lack by the administration to truly engage families in community participation and heavily dependent on the families to find that community, two community events in an entire school year. In order to be a great leader it comes from the top and that is highly lacking. There is also not a standard of who is allowed to enroll so what ends up happening is you have students who have a higher level of care and those kids take away from other children. If you are interested in this school I would go in with hard questions and really research the quality.

Zarrow is a wonderful school with many enrichments and an involved, diverse community. It is incredible to see my children becoming bilingual and bi-literate, while still excelling in the subjects they would have in a normal setting (math, science, reading). The building isn’t much to look at but what happens within the building is magical. We came from a private school in the area and couldn’t be happier.
