My kids are third generation Comets. This year the school did a staffing overhaul from the principal all the way down to the bottom. There is only 1 teacher that started this year with less than 5 years experience. It’s a small country feel type school, everyone knows everyone, excellent racial diversity, and amazing staff. I recommend out of most Mid - Del Elementary schools, even above Soldier Creek.

My son is bright, and I want him to think of school as a place for learning. He was bored and was goofing off in class and I got some teacher notes. I asked for extra hard work for him, and then I offered to provide a workbook above grade level. The teachers refused. I sent the workbook anyway and he got in trouble for using it.The office staff made me want to cry almost every time I went in.Now my older son has moved on and my my second son is there. The new office people are nice. Don't know about academics yet. What I like about this school is the lack of bullying. Neither of my kids have been made fun of. Also it is racially mixed and everyone gets along. Going to this school helps them frame other races in their minds as positive and normal, and interracial friendships as normal, and that is an important thing I want them to understand in life.

Country Estates is small school with a lot of spunk. The standards are rigorous and academics are very important to the principal and staff. The children are motivated in a variety of fun methods- Reader Leaders meet their reading goals and get beanie baby toys and their name added to the Reader Leader bulletin board each month. Triple G is a monthly event where the kids get to partake in special activities on Friday afternoon as reward for doing their work and being obedient. Celebration is held every weekly where the students sing, dance, and are given rewards of the month. The teachers are enthusiastic and will get right in with the kids and dance and sing too. The school itself is unique because it was awarded a Leader in Me Grant- a whole school transformation process that teaches leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture in which ever student is encouraged to be a "leader' by learning and engaging in the "7 Habits". Overall, this school goes above and beyond what I would expect- especially in a title one school. I would highly recommend this school to the people living in this community.

Would give zero. The office staff and the principal Mrs Guthrie I found to be lacking for care for the students. I mine sure she gets out opens doors for the students to get of the parents cars but once the child enters the school were learning should begin it become a teach how the want not how the child can learn. She allows the office staff to be rude to parents. When a parent ask for test to be preformed for learning disabilities they do not listen and again do as the want. All the while completing and getting on to the parents telling them they are not teaching there kids. So the parents have to take them to get tested because the school refused. But yet the school board said on request the child will be test by the school and the school refuse's say they do not do that it is the parent responsible to have it done. Then you take your child to doctors visit and bring doctors note the school has failed students and kicked out pre-k students for miss day that should have been excused do to have a doctors note. Plenty of parents have complained and nothing is done.

The teachers in this school are amazing, but due to the high student to teacher ratio (25:1 not 17) it makes it hard for the children to keep up with the advanced curriculum. The stress my children endure in kindergarten is a bit heartbreaking. Though the teachers are wonderful, the office staff is equally despicable, going so far as to make snide remarks when you walk in late due to a flat tire. Very judgemental. Principle being the rudest one. Be prepared, they chuckle at parents dressed less than perfect. If you don't have perfect blonde hair and a okie prep accent, you will feel distinctly less than...as will your children. If the school were under a different principle, I believe the office would be different and CE would be amazing!
