Davis is a great public school! After reading the current reviews, I noticed that only people with bad experiences are reviewing so I must also tell the good! Davis is a small tight knit community who stands behind their students which is typically shown thru sports. It’s a school full of tradition and that can be seen just driving into town. As a DHS Alumni (with family currently in school as well) looking back after college and careers, I’d say Davis did a great job of prepping for furthering my education and surviving the outside world! They went above and beyond just teaching the basics and truly care about you as a person. I have came to be friends with those who taught me in school and know they want the best for their students!

Davis is a cesspool of gossip and cliques. I grew up here and I went to school here from kindergarten through 12th grade. Once you get into middle school, you start to realize that nobody cares about anything except football and the popular students. Football players can do whatever they want and never get in trouble. Cheerleaders are just the best rays of sunshine and their uniforms don't have to conform to the school dress code. If you disagree with the hive mind, be prepared for the shunning you will get. There's a lot more to life than this town. For the ones that escape it and realize that Davis is not the real world, good on you. For the ones that stay and still obsess over gossip and football...you're just ensuring that things never change in that town and at that school. There have been a few amazing teachers here and there, but most of them don't even see what's going on right in front of them. As long as you turn in your work and keep your head down, you'll survive and you might not even be noticed. To the kids that are having a hard time, just remember, it does get better. I promise. I was bullied and treated like garbage all through high school and on multiple occasions, I thought about taking my own life, but I made it out. And you can too. Hang in there.

its great if all you want your child to learn is football and graduate to work at the local bank or gas station, that's about the amount of education they will receive.

You know... I hate Davis to all extent and would really rather live somewhere else. There are bullies here, Teachers let football players slide past grades, and if you aren't a sports person... you aren't good enough for Davis. I would definitely not recommend this School! All the principals got their jobs because they're friends with the Superintendent! Please... if you have anywhere to pick from... don't pick Davis! It would be a waste of your time/child(s) capabilities! Football guys especially... teachers will let your grades get by even i they're bad, and College would really hit you, and your Grades hard, and all that money spent... is gone! So... don't waste your child(s) capabilities!

My experience w/ the davis hi school principal and supt. was extremely upsetting. My special needs child was made to feel very unwelcome...a hostile atmosphere was fostered by these 2 individuals to the extent that i moved to sulphur and enrolled my child there rather than subject him/her to further harrassment.
