Arrowhead Elementary School

I had started to rewrite this many times. Hopefully I can keep this short and to the point, as thinking about the unprofessionalism with some of the teachers make me livid. Many occurrences that had happened to both of my kids, bullying by kids and a few teachers unfair treatment because of some behavioral issues with my son, which was being handle by a Creoks counselor that came out and was a great advocate for my son. The counselor even noticed how there were some mistreatment and stood up for him when I couldn't. I believe 3 of the teachers I have had extreme unpleasant experiences are no longer there, This was back in 2017. However, one of the teachers is still there. If you do have a kid that comes home and says concerning things about a teacher please don't take it lightly even if it something as simple as my teacher doesn't listen to me. I have seen teachers tell their students to reach out to them and then shut the kid up for trying to ask a question. that is confusing for a kid. What I have noticed is that there is more done for the kids that are already doing well or partially well. Not much for those who are really struggling or seen as a "problem". Oh and the amount of homework coming home was not ideal. *Being 20/21 school year and my kids are having zoom meetings, I have a better picture on how some teachers are talking to the kids and it is not ok that is why this review is a little late. The tone they hold with the kids are not the same with the parents, they are building distrust in the education system for some kids. I don't mind being stern or strict, but some of the teachers need to stop going on a power trip with elementary kids. My kids are currently out of peters but still within union district.

This is my child's fourth year at Moore. She's in the 3rd Grade. I cannot rave enough about this school! It's like she's getting a quality private school education with all the opportunities a well-funded, well-supported public school offers.

The CAP there with the district do not work together, can’t decide what’s best for my child with Autism, one says he can go half days a few days a week and the other says full time. I’m very disappointing on how unprofessional the staff, director, and admin was in our meeting. Luckily closed on a house in another district. Union is in terrible shape right now and glad we are moving.

A great community school that meets the needs of all students to the best of their ability. Admin and teachers do their best to create a village for students and parents. I would recommend this school to anyone relocating to Broken Arrow and moving near the rose district.

Today was my son’s first day of school. We left the house with an hour to spare and we were still late due to the complete lack of organization. I had no idea where my son was supposed to go and when we were leaving we accidentally went out the wrong door (we just moved here from Missouri) and were unfamiliar with the layout of the school. An administrator shouted at us and said “It’s time for parents to leave.” That was completely unprofessional behavior. I called and told the front desk but she didn’t seem to care. Perhaps it was her? I don’t recommend you hang your hat on first impressions.

Had an amazing 3rd grade teacher for my child! Had an adequate kindergarten teacher, who did her job but came off as stuck up and quite frankly rude at times.Principal is directly involved with students in positive ways. Did not like how very limited I was permitted to be at the school. I know it was for safety reasons, but it could be handled better.

We had 3 children here at different times. I finally pulled my last child out this year due to irresponsible leadership and immature management decisions at the school. If you have therapeutic adopted children or foster care children, know that ILCA isn't equipped to help your kids. Sports are most important at this school. The teachers are full of grace and mercy but to a fault. Since sports are so important, there are so many redos for kids to be eligible to play on these small teams. The standardized test scores were consistently low for my therapeutic adopted son, nearly identical for 3 years straight. One of my biggest regrets has been sending my kids to this school. It's been detrimental to their development. It was a good fit for my daughter in the 3rd grade, but high school was a different story. My daughter is thriving now at her new school academically and spiritually. We didn't know what we didn't have until we had it.
