Rosemore Middle School

My kids attend Shady Lane. They have already been in three school districts: Reynoldsburg, Licking Heights, and now Columbus Public. I must admit, we find ourselves no more satisfied or dissatisfied with the level of education here than we did in the higher-performing suburban districts. In fact, I would say I receive more frequent communication from teachers and staff at this school than the previous ones. Better yet, this is the first school my kids have gone to where they haven't complained about getting bullied. Their academic performance through upper grades still remains to be proven, but so far I feel as though they have adequate resources and support to learn.No school can raise your child, they can only teach. As a former educator, I know all too well that just being in a good district will not guarantee you're assigned to a good teacher. Furthermore, not all teachers will get along with all students. We actively chose to switch to Columbus Public Schools so that we would have the flexibility of moving schools if necessary, or finding good tutors, or spending more time helping our kids with homework. The framework for success exists here, and there are far more options than there are in the smaller districts. It's worth seeing for yourself!

So blessed they had room for my girls to finish the end of the year. Everyone is very nice and caring. My kindergartener was having a bad experience at her old school. One week at Holy Spirit and she was like a different child. Waking up happy and smiling in the morning coming home happy everyday. She went from It's too hard I can't” "I'm stupid". To "I don't need help” "I can do it ”. The teachers are strict and do have high expectations but they are reasonable expectations and age appropriate.
