Posted by a community member on 12/5/2011Sending my daughter here changed my views toward Stranahan. My first daughter who is now in Kindergardner with Mrs. Baurer loves having her as a teacher. She is learning alot more. Very focused on reading, math, social sikills, etc.. I truly believe that staff are trying really hard to work together

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school was terrible. The behavior and attitude of kids at this school is no different, if not worse, than public school kids. Bullying, harassment, MULTIPLE incidents of sexual harassment, and discrimination were common issues here and the staff didn't take much action to stop these issues. And some of the teachers are awful; poor communication, teaching, and attitude towards the kids. I feel like most people of color were targeted by staff and looked down upon because of stereotypes imposed on POC. The staff here does not care about students' well being or mental health, they preach the bible and correct the kids "mistakes" instead of giving emotional support and encouragement. They use the bible to sugarcoat everything. Overall, this school is toxic, discouraging, underfunded, sexist, lazy, and just a bad school.
