Great school, wonderful and attentive teachers who care about the development of all of the children

I can’t say enough of how wonderful Gearity elementary school is. The teachers are on top of things, caring about their students, they go above and beyond to not only help the students but they also help the families, specially providing help during times of crisis and with communication. I saw the review about the testing, however, if you look at the student population, they have a lot of non English speaking students and children with disabilities which they offer a lot of support to, those children are tested by the state, when they don’t speak the language! So that has to lower the school testing scores, even though the children are learning really fast and the teachers are spending a lot of time with them and their needs. Doesn’t seem fair that a school is judged for scores they have no way of changing.

I give the school 5 stars. They do their job. It's evident where the problem is when you take your student to kindergarten and only 2 out of 24 of her classmates have their school supplies (which cost about $30 all together). How do you send your kid to school without the supplies. You have 5 years to prepare for kindergarten.

-a student too much focus on obedience rather than creativity. they're impersonal, and only care about grades. sad because I expected so much more.

I would have given this school a half star but that wasn't an option. St. John Lutheran school is the worse school my child has ever attended. There is no leadership, no direction, no guidance, and no parent support. The students are constantly playing to much and bullying one another. Christ doesn't appear to be present other than on the posters or other materials hanging on the walls. The majority of people there, don't exhibit Christ. Some of the teachers are very unprofessional and clueless as to how to relate to students and their parents. Parents are allowed to confront children (not their children) if there is an issue between their child and another child. This particular experience has been the worse. The aftercare staff is great.

Outstanding elementary school, great size for children to experience diversity and be prepared for a private or public HS. Love that Gesu has a STEM program. And it’s Best in it’s kind in World languages. They actually have their very Own World language Experienced teachers (instead of like OTHER elementary schools who have sub-hired a for profit company who hires anyone and “play pretend” and don’t really teach World languages. The children learn Spanish, French and Latin and move to HS with language and cultural knowledge. It’s a diverse school who through their daily lives teach the kids good moral character.
