Pataskala Elementary School

If I’ll be completely honest, the people at the school aren’t so bad, mostly devout Christians who, as long as you’re not too different from their idea of “the norm”, they’ll be nice, at least at face value. There are a few teachers that even I, an iffy believer at best would consider very kind and good hearted Christians. About 90 percent of the students who attend(at least in my experience) are nice people and fairly good individuals. Now, to the more serious side, some of the administration doesn’t really care about all of their students, they mostly just want to maintain their image and grow their status. One of the reasons I know they don’t care about each of their students is because I personally fell through the cracks multiple times. We’ve had instances where if circumstances were a bit different, people might have been seriously hurt. I’m a senior now, but in my freshman year, I was incredibly depressed and suicidal, had no friends and anxiety issues. They had us filling out a survey form and there was a section dedicated to mental health, I filled it out truthfully, telling them I was depressed and anxious, they never got back to me. I understand some things can get lost in the mess and you loose track of emails, but I think it would’ve been better if they’d taken my answers seriously. I have suffered through anxiety, depression and s*lf h*rm at this school, I don’t blame any of the staff for not noticing. They say that they provide “a good Christian education” but I walked into the school one person, and I will graduate this year not even sure I believe in God half the time. I’ve made great friends that I hope to keep for the rest of my life, but i think this school has turned me off of any organized religion for a while.
