Joseph Welty Middle School

This is unfortunate to say but this is a terrible school. Multiple weapons and drugs are found frequently. The staff jumps to defend themselves rather than the students. They pay no attention to home life and what the child needs while in the building all day. Suspension is used on an insane amount. They don't believe in responsibility. They spent thousands on a risk assessment to not make any changes. Kids are getting pulled from the school left, and right. There are plenty of great staff in this school, but they're unfortunately not in a position of command, or not respected. The vice principal has been reprimanded so many times, but just can't seem to put his broken sword down. Bullying is out of control. Broken bones, weapon threats.

I used to go here, but have been struggling with severe mental issues, I've requested to be transferred to a school that deals with these issues better, but since it's out of their pocket, they have refused, so now I'm stuck with truancy issues and no schooling because they can't handle the fact that their environment isn't suitable enough for me

My experience was one of the worst of my life. When i went there bullying was a common factor and if you did something about it you were suspended, i fell behind tremendously since i moved there because of how awful their math teachers are. I have moved out of the school district because of how they treated me and my brother. My brother is on an IEP and got no help what so ever while going to this school. If you are even considering going here, i pray you know what youre in for

There is a lot of bullying..that takes place at this school. The teachers, pricipal and other staff turn an eye and say they don't know what is going on. They suspend the kids who fight back and do NOTHING TO THE OFFENDERS. My nephew goes to this school and has been bullied for three years. He got detention for leaving class because he was being picked on DURING CLASS!!!! The pricipal referred My sister to a VOICEMAIL. I would NOT send a flea to this school or any scholl in the New Philadelphia school district!! There have also been other cases on Facebook that I've seen.. My nephew say there is a fight at least ONCE A WEEK....

Terrible 7th Grade teachers and the principle is a 2 at best. The vice principle gets things done however.
