Posted by a parent on 3/23/2014I have not been very impressed with this school, poor teacher involvement as well as attitude. I moved from the Pleasant Street school district and currently looking hard to find a way to get my youngest into Pleasant Street. My daughter will not be going back to Dan Emmett next year even if I have to home school. Some staff members at Dan Emmett are great, the poor communication with the teachers out weights the good. They don't do as much as they should with the bullies, and that is the reason why I had pulled my oldest son who is now graduating from Mount Vernon High, from Dan Emmett when he was younger. My advice is if your child is in a school currently and doing well there do not transfer them to Dan Emmett.
Posted by a parent on 5/12/2012This school is very good to their students. There isn't a lot of "extra" activities offered but my son really enjoys the atmosphere and the positive reinforcement. The only complaint I have is that the newer teachers seem to be a little more strict and less flexible.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageour youngest daughter goes to this school and she likes it there she made many new friends and learned sooo much!we have really liked all of her teachers and she has done very well there.it is a smaller school but from what I've seen this gives the teachers more time with each child. Meanwhile, my daughter has moved on to the middle school, where she is in the accelerated math and language arts/reading classes. My son is thriving in the fourth grade. With 4 kids attending, ages from preschool to 4th grades, I have seen and experienced all this school has to offer. The administration and staff are helpful, understanding and will work with you and your child with successes and struggles in their lives.
