Read what parents are saying about Washington Elementary SchoolWonderful school! Nice building, thoughtful caring staff. My daughter is in kindergarten at Washington and we've been very pleased. She loves it so much and is learning leaps and bounds. Her teacher is so incredibly caring, in fact, everyone has been so friendly. The principal knows our names and takes our concerns seriously. When our daughter was bullied by a boy in her class they put a stop to it quickly and effectively. They 100% wanted to make sure our daughter and the person bullying her had the support they needed, without going over the top. Everything is very organized and well thought out. They have great out of school activities to help us engage with other families. The school has a very good mix of cultures represented, which our family appreciates. We're excited for her to grow at Washington!
Posted by a parent on 3/11/2024Not very good. The principal last year had lied and it was in writing. The principal this year had set up guidelines and rules regarding communication, but her staff did not comply. They do not listen and they have not looked out for the best interest of students. They are more worried about pushing documents on students and passing them with a safety net than actually teaching the students and holding them accountable for not passing or doing what needs to be completed.
Posted by a parent on 3/3/2020Only a few of the teachers are good and they do not challenge the students. The principal lacks leadership. She is out of touch with parents, and does not have good communication skills. We changed schools so our children would have a better education.
Posted by a parent on 4/22/2012My daughter transferred from Brookside in Worthington after an uneventful Kindergarten year. She had some "behavior bumps" and instead of labeling her as a bad apple her teacher and priincipal created a postive reinforcement plan that encouraged her to respect others' feelings and follow rules. Her reading has exploded and she gets extra attention in math. We love the staff for going the extra mile.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePHENOMENAL!!!As of March 2020 my daughter is finishing her 3rd year at Prep Academy Dublin Campus. And I cannot not give enough praise!Academically: She comes home and is able to explain things to me that she should not have known at her age. When she was 3, we were on a road trip in a wooded driving toward some trees because of the road layout. And from the back seat she says, "Daddy, maybe we can just orbit around the trees to the other side the way planets do around the sun!"#MindBlownShe also just tested at a very prestigious school in our area. Then assistant school director came back and said "I'm not really supposed to tell you this until the process is over, but she tested off the charts and we would love to have her." She was tested in math, reading, social interaction and maturity.Every teacher she has had has been AWESOME. They have poured into our daughter soooooo much!Staff: Also PHENOMENAL!They are knowledgeable, accommodating, problem solvers, who happen to LOVE KIDS and want to see them grow!!! My daughter was even having problem with another girl in her class, and the way that they handled it...AWESOME! The Asst Director actually pulled them both out of the classroom right at the end of the day and gave them "Teepee Time". Its a little teepee where they can go and talk out their problems. Now they are the best of friends!#BossMoveShe is ready for first grade!Highly recommended!!!Sidenote: I honestly do believe that if she was headed to a Columbus Public School, she could test into 2nd grade.
