I attended Danville Local Schools from K-12, and, while I graduated several years ago, I do not understand the rating the elementary school has received. Looking at the test scores, it is clear that Danville Elementary students are performing well above the state average in math and reading. I also know several of the teachers, as I have volunteered at the school for various reasons. All the teachers I have met are wonderful people who seem to be very committed to their job. Danville is not a wealthy area, and many of the students are coming from less than ideal homes. Yet, even with these obstacles, the students are performing well on standardized tests. I am not arguing that Danville Elementary should receive a 10/10 ranking, but 2/10 seems completely off base, in my humble opinion.

My son goes to this school. He has special needs due to autism,he has done very well in all areas at this school. We had him in mount vernon school prior to this and he was not challenged at all, they just wanted to pass him through. Here he is receiving the help and support he needs, and most importantly he likes to go!! most of the children at this school are not hateful to him,the teachers and staff stay on top of bulling very well. The communication and school spirit are number one !! I also have 4 other children who attend this school and all are doing very well. If all schools where this community based, Ohio could be prouder of our schooling system. Then again you will have parents who think the school should cater to their every whim, they don't keep in mind their child is not the only one who attend school, that being said this school is great at catering to the needs of every child. They take pride in being involved and watching out for all the childrens well being. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a Happy, Healthy education for their child.

My son is a graduate of Danville Local schools. He attended the elementary, middle school and high school. I totally disagree with the previous review in every way. Through the years most of the teachers were absolutely amazing. They actually cared about my child's well being and continue to check on him even after he has started his college career. Danville Elementary is a school you would send your child to if you wanted some place where everyone believed in making a difference for every child. I know there were many times when he felt challenged and times when he needed support and the teachers were there to make sure he got what he needed to be successful. Danville isn't just a good school it is a community that is committed to life long friendships and building students with the ability to believe in whatever they are capable of achieving.

We just moved to this district in August. We have been so very disappointed in every aspect of this school. The principle is rarely at the school, and when you do get in touch with her to discuss an issue, she blows you off. There is zero communication from the teachers to the parents. They do not challenge the students in any way; my son is reviewing the things he learned in kindergarten! Very poor excuse for a school. We are planning to enroll our children in an online school because we cannot continue to send them to a substandard school like this.
