Read what parents are saying about North Linden Elementary SchoolOverall this school is horrible the principal is never there, they have lost my son twice, they rush all the kids to eat and they do not provide an actual lunch for the children, they give you false information and do not notify you if it is early release or that there is no school, they leave the kids unattended in hallways and classrooms... My son has came home with scratches and marks on his face without any explanation, my son has add and they do not give him the proper amount of time they complain about him being antsy in his seat and they have him sitting alone because of this even though he does his work he is just a little antsy..... Overall its a horrible school I do not recommend it at all.... My son will be going to another school next year
Posted by a parent on 2/5/2018My child has attended this school since first grade and every year has got worse. The teachers do not pay attention to the needs of the students. They are understaffed and it shows. They only teach children about black history and only cater to the ESL students. I have tried everything to get my child into another school and I am now considering putting my house on the market just to move to a better district.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience with this school was horrendous. I do not believe they are truly equipped to manage/teach children who require an intervention specialist. Maria Allen (Intervention Specialist) and Tiffany Genton (Principal) were not easy to work with. They communicated with me up until I started catching them in lies and calling them out about the lies. My son was bullied, and while I often received phone calls when he was misbehaving, I never received a phone call when my son was hurt or bullied. Both Maria and Tiffany lied about not knowing my son was bullied, Maria did so during a group meeting. When I informed everyone in the meeting she blatantly lied when she said she had no idea about the bullying, she became visibly embarrassed. I reminded her of the incident I brought to her attention when my son was shoved down in the hallway and then subsequently had another kids foot on his chest. During that meeting, I also reminded her that she stated she didn't tell me about that incident because she handled it. That is still never okay. I should have been notified. Neither his father nor myself were notified. I typically heard about when my son was misbehaving but never when he was bullied. The both of them lied on my child, as well. There was an incident where Tiffany stated my son pulled the chair out from under another student. An adult from my family inquired with my son AND the other student about what happened. The other student stated that he feel out of his chair and that my child wasn't near him when it happened. Tiffany told my son's father about an incident on the playground, then told me a completely different story about the same incident. I didn't trust them and I still don't. I never thought I could have the capacity to hate anyone, but alas. If your child requires an intervention specialist, I strongly suggest looking for a different school. That classroom was consistently disorderly, Maria did not have a good handle on it. I kept paper trails of lies, when I mentioned that, written communication with me became free and far between. My son used to cry himself to sleep at night knowing he had to go to school the next day. It broke my heart. He missed a lot of school because of bullying. I am so happy we found a different school. I would NEVER send a child there as long as those two are still in the building. Very unprofessional, rude, condescending liars.Parent Review1y ago - Oakland Park Alternative Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall great experience. I think they do need to improve giving consequences to children that bully other children. Laat year my son was being bullied and all it took me was one time to go and sit in the class and explain to that boy to not bully my son and gave him the mom look. Ever since then the child has been respectful and doesn't bully my son anymore. He just needed some guidance.Parent Review4y ago - Sonshine Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter's 12th grade year was trauma-inducing. She was judged, condemned, and criticized by teachers, students, coaches, and administrators because her parents believed a little differently than the TOL model. This should have been one of the highlights of her life, but instead, they made her life miserable. I have written to them about these experiences, but received no response.Parent Review2y ago
