Lincoln Park Elementary School

This school is ok the Principal popped up at my house a couple of times with out asking me and the school nurse Jenny has told other kids parents about my kids personal health conditions with out asking. Which I thought there was privacy laws. I think they should watch the kids more with the bullying on recess.But it's a ok school

My son went to this elementary school during his elementary years. He had excellent teachers and a very efficient principal, Mrs Archie. My husband and I enjoyed each assembly and was kept well aware of our son’s progress. I recommend any parent to enroll their child/children for a great and successful school year.

My children have attended Southwood since 2012. Since we have all developed a wonderful relationship with the teachers, staff, and principal. I can honestly say that the staff genuinely cares for each and every child. They are constantly going above and beyond any and all expectations to help the children and families. My youngest will be attending Southwood next year and to be honest I'm already sad our journey with Southwood will come to an end in a few years.

Under the current principal the school has seen a significant decline in performance and an increase in problems.

The advantages of private school are smaller class sizes and a better chance at individual learning . I have not found that to be the case here. Children that are struggling do not get extra attention. They do not offer tutoring. I was told to take my child to the public library for extra help or hire a tutor myself. They require 40 hours of volunteering at the school from parents. 75 dollars to participate in a school play. They never have enough staff to organize sports. Children that need an IEP need to jump through several hoops to get one. They do not handle bullying well at all. I know of a child who was literally bullied out of this school. They are not welcoming to new families and especially families that are on scholarship. I'm not sure why we are paying so much to attend seeing as it seems that we are only paying for the name itself. I know of several families that stopped going here due to new leadership. I will not be sending my child here next year nor any of my other children.
