Read what parents are saying about Louisa May Alcott Elementary SchoolVery average. My experience started out bad, got better and now is just kinda "eh".
Posted by a parent on 1/7/2016The teachers and staff are excellent and caring. Many special needs children get great care from the educators at this first rate school.
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2013My child has attended LMA for several years. I have not been entirely satisfied with our experience. My child has special needs, and I feel they regard her as a nuisance rather than help her succeed. Also- They are too quick to offer medical advice; telling us what kind of medication she should be on, what kind of mental disabilities they think she has (even though her doctors have ruled out all of these diagnoses repeatedly). My child is now behind in her studies and I don't feel she's getting the attention neccessary for her to thrive academically. The principal and teachers are nice people, I just wish they would pay more individualized attention to students with special needs.
Posted by a parent on 10/15/2012I am sure if you bring this issue to Principal Stull, it will be nipped in the bud immediately. This has to irritate the teachers there as well who need to have their aides at full attention. She runs a tight ship and her and LMA are the best thing CMSD has going for it. Alot is done at this school with very little resources and Priincipal Stull and the teachers there are extremely dedicated and responsive. Please make sure you bring it to her attention
Posted by a parent on 1/6/2012I do not like the aids use of so much time on their Cell phones during school hours. Use your cell during lunch time. They are on their cell phones at times for 20-30 minutes during school hours. Totally wrong they could use that time better for the children. That is why I give it a 3 .Get off the cell during school hours and you get a 5 so they use that time for the school and not on the Cell phone

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children were moved from the far east suburbs of willoughby to Cleveland in the middle of the year. I was extremely worried being they were use to a top school in NE Ohio and almira had bad ratings. This school Is amazing. It's beautiful and up to date and has a great system for so many children. The way they handle classes dismissals and meals is organized and we'll think thought out. I have yet to meet a teacher that is unfriendly or has a frustrating I hate my job attitude. The staff is wonderful and my child learned more in a week than she did all year at old school. This is highly recommend. Great job Almira I am very impressed. Even my mother who is a teacher in a private school had nothing but praises. This school Is a gem in Cleveland rough school district and I can see why they have a waiting listParent Review8y ago - Halle

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne of the worst schools I have ever been to. So messy and there were so many mean kids there. The only thing I liked there was the food, but it still wasn't very good. I would never recommend this school to anyone.Parent Review9mo ago - Harrison Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWonderfully positive, diverse school community here. Ms. Crawford is a fabulous principal, the teachers are highly experienced, and having a global perspective is a core value. (Note: Harrison’s test scores may be lower on average because English is not the first language of many students.)Parent Review1y ago - Our Lady Of Mount Carmel
