5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children hate this school bullied so much and teachers don't help they don't know what to do. It's sad when u have to take your kids to counseling because the adults aren't helping and they wounder why parents are so feed up. I know for a fact their losing 10 kids next year just because of bullying and the principle doesn't help but certain kids in the situation. The prince last year was great the one their now doesn't care about anyone other than a paycheck and certain diversity because I'm not the only parent who's came in for bullying issues and she has yet to do anything but once it's a specific race, or individual she's all on it. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been going here since PreK. Every year he has had bully issues and the school seems to not care until he is fed up with it and finally defends himself or retaliates, resulting in him being suspended and the others having no repercussions of note. The teachers rave about how smart and well behaved he is. The zero bullying policy is an absolute joke. Today, a girl in a higher grade punched him multiple times before school started. He tried getting her attention a few minutes later and now suddenly my son allegedly is punching a girl. My son isn't perfect but he knows I'd put him 6ft under figuratively for laying a finger on a female. He gets suspended so I go up and request to see video of the incident to which I get a huge run around about I have to request it when such and such is in the next day to suddenly I'll have to contact the legal department to request it. Then when the security officer who handles the incident is talking to me, she claims my son never said anything about the girl hitting him and in the same sentence admits to knowing he was hit. At this point, I just want the info to request the video and a withdrawal form that they supposedly didn't have any of until I said he is withdrawing from the district once I can make the appropriate judgement of the incident from video rather than a bunch of hearsay from the other student's friends and supposedly the only parent to witness the incident. Let's not even get started on other issues like no crossing guards at a crosswalk where a kid got hit just a few years ago from a lack of crossing guards or lack of traffic direction at drop off and pick up.Parent Review1y ago - Valley View Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff at this school have done so much for my boys. They have gone above and beyond what is required in order to ensure my children get the best education possible. My older son is in the 7th grade and has gone to this school since kindergarten. He is considered gifted and has been continuously challenged at just the right level. My other son is in 2nd grade and, although he is not considered gifted, he is thriving in the warm, caring environment Birchwood provides. I am thankful for the opportunity to send my boys to Birchwood!Parent Review7y ago - Heritage Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: The elementary Bible classes and Scripture memorization and really all the classes are incredible and valuable beyond measure. For the upperclassmenSports, CSO, field trips, Home ec, cooking, foreign language classesThe science classes were amazing with the teacher who taught apologetics!English curriculum is incredible Nice cafeteria with a variety of lunchesBeautiful soccer field, and gymnasium. Private music lessons!Cons: bullying historically has been bad here and no one on staff will do anything about it. Also there is definitely nepotism towards those who's parents are on staff or faithful tithing members of the church. For the upperclassmen Bible and chapel classes, strong exegesis of Scripture and practical application ought to be emphasized more, as well as prayer groups actually praying out loud not just in silence in their heads; and more Spirit filled firey preaching to wake up the lukewarm. Frequently, Chapel services have conveyed messages like, "Nothing can separate you from God's love," good works are useless, just believe and pray a simple prayer." A more balanced and complete understanding of Scripture is necessary. Properly interpreting the Word of God reveals that Jesus, in His teachings, treats sin with the utmost seriousness. It's essential to recognize that our salvation is indeed a result of God's grace alone. However, even the demons acknowledge God's existence and shudder in fear. True believers, though, are no longer enslaved by sin; they have been set free to serve Jesus and have become new creations. Their lives should manifest the fruits of God's Spirit, reflecting holiness and transformation.A more comprehensive understanding of Scripture, emphasizing the seriousness of sin, and the transformative power of grace can help counterbalance this potential danger.Historically very few alumni even remotely ends up still serving the Lord upon leaving. I think people are encountering a religious system and not encountering the Holy Spirit. I pray often as God burdens my heart to intercede for a breakout of revival in this school!Parents: pray that the full armor of God be upon your kids in this mission field, & teach them to rightly divide the Word at home & have a genuine relationship with God.. can't emphasize this last paragraph enoughOther Review6mo ago - Garfield Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’d give zero stars if I could. Bullying, unsafe and toxic environment. Lots of sweeping violent incidents under the rug and you will hear about them only from your children or other parents. If you ask staff about them they go blank. Staff and teachers look the other way when it comes to bullying. They try to take the easy route on things and are afraid to deal with the violent parents of vile kids because they’re scared of them and try to instead shift blame on the easier going, nicer parents and their children. Toxic with a capital T.Parent Review7mo ago
