Read what parents are saying about The Bronx Preparatory AcademyThe fish rots from the head down. The administration is awful and therefore it trickles down to the students. There is no founding leadership and value from staff for the students to patternize. Horrible learning environment and one that needs to be evaluated for drastic change by the dept of education.

Based on everything I have seen my child go through, it seems clear that the administration lacks a solid vision and mission for success. I have never felt that they cared about my child's progress but merely saw him as a statistic. I don't believe he is getting the services he deserves with his I.E.P. but will continue investigating this matter. The teachers have always been warm and helpful with all of my concerns and interactions with them.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMost staff only care about appearing good. When being evaluated, staff hides the challenging students in empty classrooms in order to receive better ratings. Staff rarely communicate honestly with parents about what happens in the classroom; for example, when poorly behaved students run around the classroom disrupting and physically assaulting other children- the child does not get any reparations but instead is bribed with candy and treats. Parents are not aware of this disturbance. Substitute paraprofessionals are being directed to take care of the most troublesome students with almost no guidance or support from full time staff.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 112 Bronxwood

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWake - Eden has been around forever and continues to excel. They a a hidden gem. I have watched this school grow over many years and always recommend families to them. As an alumni I know the foundation they gave me. Which is why I sent my three children there. My son (who is in college now) and many of his classmates were all above grade level when they left. He was excelled in elementary and continued that excellence through middle school. He went into high with 4 of his regents exams passed. Without that head start at Wake-Eden that wouldn't be possible. My oldest daughter left from there and went on to Horace Mann and my youngest is currently there. All of them where prepared for the next level of their education. The principal, teachers, teacher's assistants, and every single staff are caring, compassionate and loving to the students. Every morning the custodian is there cleaning up greeting families and knows the kids names. When you walk in your greeted by the security guard, Mr. Francis that knows the children by name! Wake-Eden is family! Know that your child will be safe, secure, educated, and comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better foundation for my children.Parent Review2y ago - Our Lady of Grace School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two daughters have been in this school since 2019 when my eldest started pre-K. I have nothing but amazing things to say from the teachers to Mr. H. My girls are supported in their academics with my youngest receiving special education this year. I truly have no complaints whenever I have raised concerns with things like bullying they have been addressed immediately by Mr.H and their teachers. They have sports teams and lots of amazing events through out the year for the kids from BBQ’s to book fairsParent Review4w ago - Nativity Of Our Blessed Lady

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended from grade 6 in 2005. I suffered a lot here. THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT BULLYING. I was always bullied and teachers did nothing about it. In 6th grade, this teacher called me to her desk and asked to see my folder. She then threw it across the floor. I felt so ashamed. Also I was constantly harassed by a kid basically every day in 8th grade and when I asked my teacher to simply just change my seat so I could be distanced from him he said no and walked away from me. I thank God I graduated from this place with the sanity I had left. I rarely have any good memories. The lunchroom was the gym and music room too. I'm not sure how it is now that it's 2020 but from my experiences, I would never send my children here.Other Review3y ago - St Mary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMixed. Overall my child's innate ability was squelched and delayed, instead of embraced and nurtured. I would not recommend this school to children not of Carribean extraction. In grade K5 she was nurtured and handled properly. In the final analysis she benefited, but could have received so much more if the school had been properly staffed and managed.Parent Review3y ago - Faith Christian Academy
