The Longwood Academy of Discovery

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student here back in 2010, its 2025 now. This school took my phone which was a memorable phone full of pictures of me and my dad, and I no longer have this phone because of this school, who refused to give it back, and the end of the school year they tried giving it back but it wasn't even my phone. It was a fake phone that wasn't even mines at all. Till this day it affects me because it was a valuable item for me and they never gave it back.Other Review5mo ago7 Reviews - St John Chrysostom School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing this because I feel like it needs to be said. I enrolled my twins into this school for pre k because I thought it would be a good experience for them. I was so wrong. My children only went there for three days and that was because the first day my son did not adjust well to the new environment and he tried to run and they immediately called me after he was only there for 15 minutes and asked me to pick him up. The next day was a Friday, he was feeling sick so I didn't send him and then the Monday I took him in only for a half hour after I dropped him off I get a call again to pick him because they claimed he didn't want to stay in the class and he pushed a teacher's assistant into a closet. My son was three years old last year in september and maybe 35 pounds, I still can't understand how that small child could push a whole adult into a closet and because I was at work and had to make my way back to pick them up, it took me a a little less than an hour to get down to them and they called and emailed me like every 15 minutes to find how long it was going to take to pick him up. Nevertheless, their email to me was that they felt my son was a danger to the school and he could no longer attend. Of course I had to withdraw my daughter from there as well because at that point I realized that this was not a nice, caring, nurturing environment for my kids. The interesting was because they threw my son out they did refund my fees that I paid three to four months later but refused to refund the fee for my daughter like they didn't really believe that I would leave my daughter there after they threw her brother out. Also they were acting like they was going to keep the school supplies that I gave for my daughter for her class, scuh as the wipes, paper towel, hand sanitizer. I kept hounding them and eventually got them back, not the same ones but whatever they felt like returning.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Democracy Prep Endurance Charter School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school’s new policy has created instability for scholars. On Fridays, elementary students are dismissed at 12:50 p.m., yet high school students are released 40 minutes later, which causes significant inconvenience for families, changes would be advised. The uniform policy is also unnecessarily strict. For example, students are penalized for wearing a plain navy-blue shirt without a logo. In some cases, being sent home to change or given lunch detention, though gray pants without a logo are which doesn't make sense. These punishments negatively ruins student attendance.Furthermore, issues of safety and fairness remain unaddressed. Some students continue to disrupt classrooms and make inappropriate, including homophobic, comments. This completely ruins the experience for students that go to this specific DP School.Rather than prioritizing skirt lengths and logo placement, the administration should focus on fostering a safe learning environment, supporting academic achievement, and preparing students for college and future opportunities, not what you have on your body. Which I believe is truly unjust for a school that claims they care about their students. While the school offers valuable resources, the current system makes the basic act of attending and learning unnecessarily difficult. This school should take consideration in more suggestive and supportive ideas to benefit the environment more instead of making unfair rules not everyone has the privilege to control.12:50 p.m.Student Review8mo ago7 Reviews
