Read what parents are saying about Ps 179My child love to be going to this school because they have education as a high standard
Posted by a parent on 11/27/2018It's a nice school but even with all the staff they have available, I think they care more for the kids that know how to do the work. They rather act as if the child with the learning problem is a nuisance instead of trying to get them help. It's really strange to hear a seasoned teacher complain about a child instead of recognizing their might be a learning disability. And if they believe a child is just behaving badly, there's no telling what they may do to that child in anger or frustration.
Posted by a parent on 8/24/2018My daughter attends Pre-K at PS 179 and I am very pleased with the education that she is receiving. Her teachers are amazing and we're grateful that she was given the opportunity to attend this school.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two daughters attended this school for about 6 years. They graduated last week and must say I love this school. As a parent school picking the right school is so important for your child and I am so glad I picked this school. My children and I felt supported from day 1. Even after I moved to Manhattan it didn't bother me to commute because finding a great school like this was hard to come by. Ms. Zwerling was my daughters biggest cheerleader for so many years she helped along the IEP process and always was a ear for her to express herself. Ms. Josama who understood my daughter and actually gave her the motivation to tap into her crafted of cricut among many other things. I must say this year Hailey was feeling to really express that fun, creative business side of herself. Ms. Miro the school secretary that was such a sunshine to my girls and I every morning. If something was needed she made sure it was done. My little Lilly loved being welcomed with a hug from her. Ms. Mayo who was Lillys first teacher was so kind to her. Ms. Lopez the teacher who will light up every room with her kind heart, She taught my daughter how to break out of her shell and join the step team. Lilly felt so in love with step. That's just to list a few of the many people who had a impact. I just want to say Thank you PS.49 for preparing my girls for the future and I will forever be thankful.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 65 Mother Hale Academy
