Read what parents are saying about Ps 16 John J DriscollHorrible. Would not recommend parents to send their kids there. Would not recommend people to work in this atmosphere.
Posted by a parent on 7/6/2017This school is probably the worst school I've ever had the mispleasure to be in. The administration staff is about as qualified as their students to run a school. The principal, has a terrible temper, and is very unjust in all situations. The assistant principal is brash and irrational in all her decision making skills. These two run the school as if they were high school besties and this was their stomping ground. I would not recommend sending your child here, as the school is wildly unfit to meet their needs. I wouldn't recommend working here, as the administration, can't manage their staff or work with anyone in a productive manner. They make decisions based on assumptions and their "I'm in charge and you aren't" mentality is the most toxic of any school I've ever been to. How such incomptetant, negligant, power hungry, and down right crude people came to be administrative staff is beyond me. Do not come to this school to work, and do not send your child to this school. They are below average in everything they do, and will do nothing to benefit their staff, or their community.
Posted by a teacher on 6/30/2017I feel they should work on making phone calls home to parents if they feel there is a problem in class.
Posted by a parent on 6/21/2017The teachers and administration work together. My child has been very happy at the school. The principle and assistant principles are always there if you need to meet them. My daughter even got to see a broadway show. She had breakfast with Baby J.
Posted by a parent on 7/14/2013The Teacher are wonderful. I cannot say the same for the Administration. I had an opportunity to observe the Principal. She ACTS as if she cares for the School. However, she could careless about the safety of the students. There has been many times where I have dropped my child off and there was no one monitoring the kids entering early in the morning. Also, there has been instances of bullying the boys/girls bathrooms and nothing has been done about that either. If you aren't on the PTA or SLT you are unimportant to the Principal of P.S. 16. This school is Horrible!!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHii, I do not recommend this school to people who are neurodivergent or poc. I've gotten racist and many negative comments towards me and the teachers (especially the principal) does absolutely nothing about it but only makes a deal if you say a word like "hell". There is so much favoritism at this school, like they literally only like you if you're white and neurotypical. I also used to come home crying sometimes because of what I would experience here. However the teaching and learning is pretty good but they kinda expect too much. art class here is fire though yessssssssss!!!! But it bothers me how they haven't held theirselves accountable or atleast tried to change theirselves by caring for all studentsOther Review1y ago - Immaculate Conception School
