Posted by a parent on 3/9/2024Our child is getting a great education here. All the teachers are creative and maintain excellent communication . I feel well informed of school events and opportunities for service credit/ community engagement. The PTA and administration work hard to have a great academic program and to make the school a community. There are great extra curricular options and a solid arts program as well. The only complaints our child has is that the students can be narrow minded and that there is uneven enforcement of the dress code for girls as compared to boys. Beyond that we couldn’t be happier with choosing this middle school.
Posted by a parent on 1/13/2024If your child goes to this school and gets bullied or assaulted, don't expect administration to do anything about it. They like to sweep all bullying allegations under the rug. The paraprofessionals are completely useless and they will never see or hear anything. If you file a complaint for bullying, the surveillance video will never pick up any footage. If the PTA members who kiss up to the administration via fundraisers have kids who are bullies, they will get preferential treatment and get away with it.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 children in this school going on 4 years for the older one and could not be happier with the teachers, principal and vp ms. A . Teachers really put in the effort to have the kids reach their full potential. I am truly amazed at how much my children learn and both come home happy every day. Whenever I need to discuss something with the teachers I feel heard and most have gone above and beyond my expectations to resolve minor issues and especially during the pandemic. I cant say enough positive things about the teachers and also the paras are just as wonderful. All truly care for the students. The principal, mr meyers, does a fantastic job keeping the parents informed and his presence is seen all over the school from morning greetings at the main entrance to his personal appearances in classrooms on Fridays when he gives out reading medals to the children. His involvement and approach to his position makes the school feel like a community. The vp ms. A is also fantastic. She is quick to resolve issues and great at her position as well. I may be a student here, but trust me your kid will be screamed at constantly and under some circumstances coming home in tears. You can’t get any other teachers like you have in ps 56 . They will answer all yourQuestions and needs . I’m happy this was her zone school. Haven’t heard ever a complaint about anybody or anything .
