My daughter doesn't know English. After attending kindergarten in this school, she became confident and can understand English. She likes the teachers in this school very much. She said that the teachers are very patient and kind.

I have 2 children in this school going on 4 years for the older one and could not be happier with the teachers, principal and vp ms. A . Teachers really put in the effort to have the kids reach their full potential. I am truly amazed at how much my children learn and both come home happy every day. Whenever I need to discuss something with the teachers I feel heard and most have gone above and beyond my expectations to resolve minor issues and especially during the pandemic. I cant say enough positive things about the teachers and also the paras are just as wonderful. All truly care for the students. The principal, mr meyers, does a fantastic job keeping the parents informed and his presence is seen all over the school from morning greetings at the main entrance to his personal appearances in classrooms on Fridays when he gives out reading medals to the children. His involvement and approach to his position makes the school feel like a community. The vp ms. A is also fantastic. She is quick to resolve issues and great at her position as well. Truly a great school

My granddaughter has attended this school now for 2 years. The principal down to the custodian are awesome. You can’t get any other teachers like you have in ps 56 . They will answer all yourQuestions and needs . I’m happy this was her zone school. Haven’t heard ever a complaint about anybody or anything . So I’m sure this school will continue toBe one of the top schools in Staten Island .

My experience at this school was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional due to the conduct of the principal. I was treated with hostility and suspicion while simply doing my job as a paraprofessional assigned to the building. I was questioned aggressively about who I was, why I was there, and who employed me, despite being authorized to be on campus.The principal took photos of me without my consent, accused me of sleeping when I was not, and spoke to me in a demeaning and confrontational manner. I explained that I was experiencing a severe headache and was waiting for work assignments, yet this explanation was dismissed.What made the situation especially troubling was the tone and nature of the interaction. I was made to feel targeted, unwelcome, and disrespected in a way that did not appear to be applied equally to others. The lack of professionalism, respect, and basic courtesy was unacceptable and deeply concerning.School leadership should foster a respectful and inclusive environment for all staff and contracted employees. Unfortunately, this experience did the opposite and left me feeling singled out and mistreated

I would like to give them a zero. They evaluated my son without my consent and took him to a neurologist, where he was diagnosed with ADHD, and then they removed him from the school because, according to them, they did not have the resources to help him. There is a God who sees everything, and they use His name to play with people’s faith.

This is a school that had 2 different principles in less than one year for unknown reason. It is very unfortunate that this is the only catholic school in our catchment area so there is a limited alternative unless you are fortunate to be rich and put your child in a private school. The principle is extremely busy with her laptop and being a go by book person, She is never seen in the morning when kids are going to school. Honestly I have not seen her once walking around school greeting students or parents in the past year and a half, If you make any comments about any of her teachers they become difficult and so much defensive. Earlier this year the principle has a made a big shuffle in classes where she mage a Kg teacher teaches grade 2, 3 and 4 and hired teachers that she knows from other schools she worked for. The important thing to mention that teachers do not treat special needs kids very well and I personally heard one of the EAs revealing the child medical issue when another parent asked. The special need supervising teacher is so old fashion and has very little to offer. The School side door is left unmonitored and anyone can get in by knocking on the door and anyone inside opens it, I witnessed that twice. The reason I wanted to review that school is my hope that the education minister or the superintendent of the York district school board reads it and investigate what I say as I have tried to voice my concerns to my child's teacher then the principle but she was very dismissive and defensive.

This is one of the worst schools you can send your child to. I was told that it is a "privilege" to go to this school. The logic being that you're paying for it. There are many cases of bullying and entitled children and parents who attend this school. There is nothing holy or catholic about this place since the disgusting behavior goes against catholic principles. The principal is useless as an administrator and the teachers also encourage the behavior of the children by being divisive. Many parents have pulled their children out of this school and it is the best decision. Any complaints will fall on deaf ears. When you show up at the school, the front desk secretary is the most abrasive, and miserable person you will ever encounter. She will treat you like you're one of the students and has a horrible personality. She's the gatekeeper and her interactions with parents leaves a lot to be desired. I have pulled my daughter out of this miserable place and it is the best decision I have made.
