Read what parents are saying about Nesaquake Middle SchoolI was bullied a lot by kids and my peers were very rude to the teachers. The teachers also have a tendency to shut down and interrupt the people with learning disabilities or such. Character in the students is very similar but in a bad way, bad influences for sure. Think carefully before enrolling your kids here!
Posted by a parent on 1/24/2022From my experiences at Nesaquake, almost all of the teachers I had were exceptional, and were average but effective at worst. The school has a healthy environment with good infrastructure, and it was a great place for me to learn.
Posted by a community member on 8/6/2021I felt very awkward in my experience in Nesaquake. No one really accepted me and I always felt like I was alone. The new students always are teased and the academics are ok
Posted by a community member on 8/31/2013there is nothing i could change to this school!i just started this year! I can absolutely assure you will enjoy every day there.
Posted by a community member on 5/1/2013This school is amazing. I am about to spend all three years of middle school here and loved every single bit of it. I found multiple groups of people that i fit in with and it was great. I remember that new kids fit in perfectly. Most of the teachers are really good and some of them are a little crazy but that makes class more fun. Most of our sports teams do really well even against other bigger middle schools. I was apart of the Cross country and track and field teams and there was two excellent coaches. Overall i loved nesaquake and my memories and what i learned there there will stay with me forever.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI I absolutely love this school. I read some of the negative reviews and find them misleading. First of all there are not numerous halls days a month. There is one half day a month which includes a mass. My family lives next door and go to public school and the amount of days my nieces are home is excessive. The curriculum : The school follows the same curriculum as Smithtown school district. My child does her homework with our family friends which are in the same grade. Both my daughter and my friends son do their homework together since they are on the same lessons. The other bad review is not hard to guess who wrote it. There is one mom in the school whom for the past 3 years have complained about everything from the kids, teachers and the way it's run. She also keeps her kids in the school for unknown reasons. Her one child has had behavioral issues and been reprimanded. I would never pout my child in any other school. There is a reason this school gets new children in during the school year and is thriving. I do realize not all children will handle small graduating classes , uniform and religion. My nieces need some extra help in their schooling and have sensory issues so this is why they need to stay in public school. Regular parent involvement is also a common practice in this school. I love seeing my children during their school day, from seeing interactions with other children and their friends. Some parents prefer to stay out of the school activities. That's fine but then this is another amazing thing about this school. Parents are truly involved. The principal is hands on and will handle behavioral issues. This school is wonderful. If anyone has any doubts ask the parents that continue to send their children here.Parent Review1mo ago - Ss Philip & James School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a new family to Harbor Country Day School this year. Our child is in 3rd grade and we decided to transfer to Harbor this year from a different private school on Long Island. Our experience with Harbor began well before the beginning of the school year. The communication with staff was excellent from the beginning and they made us feel at home from the minute we walked in for open house. It really feels like one big family. From teachers to staff to parents, we were made to feel so welcomed. Our child has been blossoming. The amount of support that is given is unmatched. I always feel comfortable approaching my child's teacher with any concerns I may have. They are quick to respond. The sense of community has been beyond my expectations. The number of activities that families are encouraged to participate in is numerous. This has allowed us the opportunity to get to know the parents and the children in our child's class. Harbor Country Day School has put an emphasis on our child as a whole and not just focusing on education. Their emotional well being is cared for as well as their safety. We are beyond happy with our decision to join the Harbor family!Parent Review6mo ago - Smithtown Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSmithtown Christian School has exceed my expectations as a parent. That is not an easy task! They are genuine and authentic. They stand firm in the Lord and that is beautifully weaved throughout the school. I love that they communicate in a transparent way, keeping families in the loop of happenings at school and in the community. They make time for questions and concerns! They not only support the student, but the family unit of their students. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that my child is happy and truly cared about. This is my child's second year attending, with favorites being STEM, Art, and lunch (the freshly made food is a wonderful option). Take a tour! Then once your family is a part of the SCS family, join the PTO for an look at the inner workings, or volunteer to be a class parent and see the wonderful things that God is doing!Parent Review1y ago
