Read what parents are saying about Queens School Of InquiryThe administration has good intentions but falls short in most areas.
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2022this school lured parents and students into their school but there was nothing special about this school. It is small and they lack resources. Leadership leaves a lot to be desired.
Posted by a parent on 1/31/2020The most important thing is my child's happiness and my child is very happy at queens school of inquiry or as they call it QSI. The staff is always very nice and communicate a lot with us parents. I'm not sure why there are negative reviews, those people must not have experienced other schools out there. My other child went to a different middle school where they didn't have the high expectations that the teachers have for the kids at QSI. QSI is very advanced and the teachers always help and even give up their lunch time to help the kids. I don't know about you but my lunch hour is very important to me but these teachers really care about the kids. I always feel welcome at the school and I like that it is advanced. I can't wait until my child goes to high school and has the college classes. I didn't go to college so this is something I appreciate and love the opportunity it's giving the kids in the community to be positive role models.
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2015While students are given the opportunity to take college courses the experience at this school is terrible. There are bullying that occurs and when one complains the teachers/guidance counselor and principal takes sides. My child experience was terrible. Teachers are very bias. If you or your child are aware that you have the right to speak up and make use of that right then your child becomes the "untouchable" and is treated as terrible which leads to isolation. The point is that if you can shut up and have your child treated unfairly then this is the school for him/her. The principal and teachers and most importantly the guidance counselor needs to attend workshops to help them understand how to work with children from various background. Also, they need to understand that everyone has rights not only the students they are friends with.
Posted by a parent on 6/2/2014I started this school in 2010 and I'm now in 9 grade. The school is a good school. Some teacher will help you like Mr.Dimonte and Mr. Skulikidis. The school has a good curriculum but I feel sometimes is not as hard as I expected. Now the environment suck. Most people wants to move because it really doesn't feel like a high school. I mean at the end memories are the one that will be there. N in this school I feel that the day goes slow. It's a boring school with good education.

The school safety knows every student. Love this school. This school really gets the parents involved. It deserves better ratings!! should be 10/10 !!!!Parent Review3y ago - Ps 165 Edith K Bergtraum

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal’s policies are self serving. Even in harsh winter days forces the children out into cold to toughen them. First Fridays every month brings all parents in a show off public relations campaign. Result of just these 2 unsafe policies- kids get flue, raising extremely high absents. Principal and assistant principals don’t even reply to emails. Bullying is a real problem here as well. Lack of sane policies. Lack of teachers with real teaching experience. Discrimination behind doors. Every issue is quickly tried to hush up. My son had to spend 2 yrs of hell in this school. My heart goes out to who has no better choice given it’s a zoned school. But is you have choice don’t put this on your top 12 schools in application. Hope you avoid this school.Parent Review4mo ago - Ps Ms 200 The Magnet School of Global Studies & Leadership

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is awful. There is huge bullying issues and if you’re not loaded with money or an honer roll student your child is an immediate target. If your child is one of these kids that aren’t loaded or top of the class your child will be verbally abused. My kid has been called special needs by the head principal of the school, needs to go to a mental health doctor for asking to get tissues during mincha. Kids in this school bully others so bad I hear story’s that they spit on their face and call them names like horse, autist, and Ed. The teachers are hit or miss some of them are great but 70% of them didn’t even graduate college they take off school so much the substitutes are known as a teacher to them. The problem with the substitutes is they don’t learn with them they either ignore the kids and go on their phone or give the kids a free period and let them play outside. If you want your kid to learn at home or study teachers don’t give out reviews or homework my son hasn’t had homework since 4th grade before Covid. PS: principals will embarrass your kid infront of the whole school and make him feel like a nobody.Other Review10mo ago - Solomon Schechter School Of Queens

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll 3 of my children have learned at SSSQ and I'm very happy with the school. Not only are the teachers great, but everyone there makes it feel like home and we're one big happy family. A warm and caring environment with the right tools to help our students reach their learning goals and get them ready for high-school. SSSQ will always be a part of my family.Parent Review2y ago - Rainbow Montessori Internation
