Posted by a community member on 6/11/2023The teachers are no help, the staff is no help. They are liars and they don't care about the students. My son knew how to read , write, and understand his math in preschool, when he got in the middle of the year in kindergarten I was told suddenly he doesn't know how to read. They told me my son needed speech therapy to help him concentrate. He never needed speech, I took him out of the school and his grades have never been lower than an 80 and he's always on the honor roll. It's sad that this school is my only choice for public school. I have to pay for school in order for my child to have a good education, it's not fair.

Posted by a community member on 5/5/2016This school is amazing. Both my children have gone there and the teachers and staff are awesome. I have been in many schools and none, not even in D26 schools compare. You cannot look at test scores alone. No doubt that if you are looking for a great elementary school, this is it!!!!!!!
Posted by a parent on 4/10/2015This is a nice school. My son went here from PreK to third. The school has very strict policies on behavior and I did appreciate that. Everyone is treated equally. I did feel that some of the teachers in the upper grades were a little cold and screamed a little too much. The school does have a nice feel because it is small and has nice facilities compared to some around here. The vice principals are wonderful people who are great with children and should also be commended.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI will not recommend this school it needs to close it down or get new leadership they don't respect the parents because some of them are from the project they look down on us like we don't care about our children and when you have a concern they cover it up to make the parent look bad mom if you could find another school that's in your child zone then this one I advise you to do that I do not send your child to the schoolParent Review2y ago - Ps 112 Dutch Kills

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family had an absolute horrible experience at this school! From the awful administrators, both principal and vice principal, to the incompetent horrible guidance counselor, to mediocre teachers, this school experience for the last several years continued to disappoint. This school failed my child on many levels including quality of services received, to recommendations of classroom placement, to sharing that my child was very behind in the last year of school before leaving and transitioning to middle school. Would have been nice if that was communicated to us years earlier so we could have gotten the supports needed and set him up for success in middle school. Poor communication with parents and overall, just terrible school. I am beyond thrilled that my child will no longer be a student here. Years ago, this school was considered to be an elite public school that was equivalent to a high-end private school. It completely went downhill, and the leadership is really at the core of it. I have many friends who attend the school that feel the same way I do. Do not send your child to this school! There are so many better options in the neighborhood.Parent Review10mo ago - Ps Is 217 Roosevelt Island

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSafety is an issue in this school. Assaults have happen in the Middle school and the school has always a way out to deal effectively to keep the environment free of violence. I would not recommend this Middle school all this school.Parent Review7mo ago - Ideal Islamic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent of an upper schooler at Town. We’ve been at Town since kindergarten. Town is such a wonderful school! My child is thriving academically and the mix of challenging work, top-rate faculty, and a warm and friendly community make this one of the best schools in the city!Parent Review11mo ago - Lycee Francais De New York
