The school has been steadily declining. Teachers are wallowing in constantly assessing the kids rather than teaching. The principal shows little interest in special education. In 13 years as principal she has visited the therapy room 3x. Excellent therapy room, but no supplies are given by the princ
Posted by a community member on 6/24/2026My child attends this school and I am pretty pleased with her experience. The teacher makes sure that she learns her materials. It is in a safe neighborhood. The free morning test prep along with free breakfast provided is great.

Posted by a parent on 10/18/2015I don't think a school is goodif it fforces it's students to come to test prep at 7am, they miss breakfast, they are tired and can't concentrate, the school does not care about the kids or what the parents think, they are in the process of adding another school into this crowded one without the care

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst experience for my child with special needs. Leadership and communication is what they need in this school. They need a specialize teacher that truly care about there students and emotions. There accommodations for students with IEPs are not as followed , leading to behaviors to escalate for a child. Principal is not a leader or a voice in this school, just complains and makes you and your child feel uncomfortable and discriminated. This was one of the main reasons we decided to extend the same path to our child. Our child has been in the SKCA community since kindergarten (covid) and now finishing fourth grade. Like any school, it has faced its challenges over the years, but one thing that stands out is how the principal, staff and administration care about the children and their privacy. Their focus has consistently been on providing stability, a strong education, and a nurturing environment. My child is happy to go to school and be in the clubs and sports that are offered. Has made friendships that feel more like extended families. There’s a real closeness among families here.
