Posted by a parent on 3/9/2014This school is AWESOME. The principal Ms. Mitchell communicates with parents and has an energetic attitude. The assistant principal is cool and she is always helping out, she does not look so friendly but she is when you talk to her. Ms. Thacker is very expressive and loud and she gets the job done.

I only kept my kid at this school because it's close to the house and I can get my family to pick up if I have an emergency since I work all the way in the Bronx. I can't wait to take them out. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are very interactive with the students and have no trouble reevaluating questions inquired by students who don't understand the lesson on the prior explanation. This school also offers many opportunities to build your leadership skills. The school offer a variety of competition including but not limited to Art, Debate, Science, and Poetry. Moreover, this school provides an Islamic environment, where students feel safe, learn more about their religion, and find their true self. In my experience, the teacher’s welcome newcomers warmly, and they attempt to strike a conversation with any new students without the person attempting to fit in or feeling insecure. There have been no cases of bullying, as, due to how the school is not crowded, the students get along and are very close with each other. Overall, it is an amazing environment and an institution where the students can be comfortable and interact with teachers to rise to the top.
