For years my child was failing in reading and math and they just kept passing him along. At the end of 4th grade I spoke with the school about holding him back a year because I felt he was way behind where he should be and even they were telling me he was. However they talked me out of it,

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA very good encouraging environment. Kids are awesome, very nice and friendly to my kids. Teachers are competent - I volunteered a number of times and saw them at work. Kids could do with more homework - right now they get about 5 minutes worth, if any. The reading program is a bit weird - the whole school is given the same book, which is often difficult for the younger kids to understand. Also, they should consider switching from iXL to FirstInMath for online math practice - iXL is tedious and not very creative. The teachers also don't encourage the students enough to do iXL - at our previous school they had a lot of competitions and events to encourage kids to spend greater time on FirstInMath - with the class with the most hours often getting a prize.
