Read what parents are saying about Fostertown Etc Magnet SchoolI'm increasingly disappointed in this school. Initially we had very minor issues, but our cumulative experience is increasingly negative. More disheartening is that this is the highest rated elementary school in the distric so we seem to have no better option. I can't wait to get our kids to a different school even if that means moving away from our home that we love.
Posted by a parent on 6/4/2017We have been at this school for the past 3 years and absolutely love it! My daughter is in the dual language program (not mandatory) and is immersed in math, reading/writing and other domains of learning in Spanish every other day. They offer great additional learning activities such as Hudson Valley Seed and Science Club. The performing arts/drama that is incorporated into the class is awesome and helps the children build confidence. The children are very well challenged while in a nurturing environment.
Posted by a parent on 2/14/2016My son has grown academically 7 socially with the teachers curriculum. Also the correspondents via teacher/principle is wonderful. Us as parents are always made aware of what's going on.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDr. Buon is probably the best administrator in this district. Balmville School is a great school. The school was given special ed classes to save money and the issues come from not having staff to service the kids the district moved in there. Our child went K-5 there. If you know what education is and care about the learning part, this is the school for you.
