Read what parents are saying about Ps 110 Florence NightingaleNot impressed as I get the impression parents are not wanted inside the school unless there is a fundraising event. At every other elementary school parents /caretakers can enter the schoolyard or step inside to pickup or drop off their child, but not at this school/. Bullying issues are not addressed at all which is very unfortunate. The principal seems as if she wants her numbers to look great irrespective of any issues going on. I heard this but also heard good things but I am seeing the negatives are correct and appear to be true.
Posted by a parent on 10/24/2023Wonderful school. So far we have had a great experience. My son is going to 4th grade this year and so far I am very pleased with the teacher, PTA, and extracurricular activities and subjects.
Posted by a parent on 8/31/2022Poor. Will not be returning next year. In addition to issues identified above, I am puzzled at the 13:1 teacher/student ratio claim on this site. My son's class has 30 kids and this school overall feels incredibly overcrowded.
Posted by a parent on 1/18/2018Ms. KIM is one of the best and brightest teachers who is very patient, treats every child with respect, her hard work and dedication is incredible!!!!! Wonderful school, beautiful G and T program, dedicated and hardworking Principal and assistant principal. My son is very happy and so are we!!!
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2015PS 110 has wonderful, hardworking teachers and a small but active PTA. It is diverse and has a great g&t program. This is our 3rd year at PS 110 and we are pleased so far.

They really helped her and support her even on the most difficult subjects. The teachers are absolutely Amazing and so is principal Adamek And Ms. Tineo soo so helpful and caring. Ms. Greene and Ms Mosure are seriously superstar teachers I can’t thanked them enough for all their support and the entire school staff! We already miss it. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn summary, my daughter's experience at this school was a nightmare. Despite the respectful behavior of her G&T teacher, she felt lethargic due to the disruptive classroom environment, including name-calling, furniture throwing, and fights in the lunchroom. She didn't feel safe in the classroom, and her mental health was deteriorating. The academic program was not challenging, as the work she was given was WAY below her level. The school also failed to promote good health by distributing junk food every Friday. When my daughter was transferred to a new school, she had to catch up on four months of missed work. Overall, I was very disappointed with the school's treatment of its G&T program and the lack of concern for students' well-being. The fact that a first-grade teacher disgustingly spoke to her shows some teachers do not even treat their students with respect, and it's no wonder when they get to a higher grade they have behavioral issues when some of the teachers do not have integrity. I mean if you get lucky maybe you'll get a good teacher but overall, I gave it a 2 star because the staff was cooperative and kind to my child but need a much sturdier hand with behavior and academics. I do NOT recommend the G&T. Upside of the school is they offer scholarships but it was not worth the safety of my child.Parent Review10mo ago - Ps 134 Henrietta Szold

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers my daughter has had at this school were great. I couldn't ask for better teachers. And the principal does an excellent job. My experience has been a positive one at this school. My daughter has been here since kindergarten. She's now going to 4th grade.Parent Review6y ago - Ps 140 Nathan Straus

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageShuang Wen School . If you are looking for a good elementary school and middle school for your children, you must pay attention to this. When you have questions or you support from school principal. The principal and the newly appointed assistant principal never reply messages to parents. Replying to emails and messages is the most basic courtesy, but we as a parents are not even treated with the most basic courtesy and respect. When we called the school, the school staff will just told us the only thing we can do is wait.Parent Review4mo ago - Ps 188 The Island School
