This school exemplifies Montessori. As both a parent and a Montessori guide, I can speak confidently about the tremendous community MMS has established on both the sides. MMS is the reason my child has thrived as an independent, self motivated and inspired learner for the past 9 years. MMS is the reason I find joy, inspiration, and gratitude in the simple day to day magic of a Montessori classroom. As advocates for community, The village (and surrounding) benefit often from their community service and participation, always reflecting the objective to simply make the world a better place.

I couldn’t imagin having my child go anywhere else. The staff is so kind and loving. They alway greet all the children and parents with a smile. You can tell they truly love they do. There is such strong sense of community. As a parent, I always feel like I know everything that’s going on with the school and my kids classroom. Between all the posts, newsletters and emails, you can’t miss anything. The staff and Director are always accessible and available to answer any questions or concerns. They are all very professional and kind at the same time. I couldn’t imagine having my child at any other school. If you want a true Montessori school and an environment that nurtured your kids love of learning this is the school. Take the time to tour it. You’ll fall in love right away.

This school right here. Montgomery Montessori...the "home away from home" for my girls within the last 5 years...I can't say enough about the love I have for the teachers and director, Ms. Parinaz Mokhtari. It saddens me to see a negative word written about this wonderful school because it is so far from my experience within the last 5 years. Despite the fact that I don't get a lot of face time with the teachers on a daily basis (because I have the same exact schedule being a teacher myself) I easily maintain an active and open line of communication through phone/email. Any time I have reached out to the teachers and administration, I have received a response in a timely manner. The Primary building is brand new and immaculately clean. The "true colors" of the administration were revealed to me when my family experienced an unexpected financial hardship and instead of being solely "concerned about collecting tuition" we were treated with grace. Both of my daughters completed the 3 year cycle and with the same teacher. Both girls moved on to Kindergarten at a public school with a solid foundation of reading, writing and math skills - along with a love of learning. We will never forget this lovely school and the special people we've met who make it extraordinary. I would do it over again 1000 times ... thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Montgomery Montessori School has been absolutely everything we have ever wanted for our Daughters education. As a Montessori student myself, I always knew my child would also attend a Montessori school. Finding an authentic, Montessori experience was easy with MMS. The teachers are loving a dedicated to each and every student on an individual level. Our Daughter has completed a three year cycle, with the same teacher and has now moved to the next level classrooom. We have many memories but one of our most precious is when she was having a particularily sad day, her teacher sat with her on the floor and cuddled her, loved her, and assured her that everything would be Okay. That is the kind of school I want, and everyone should want their child to attend. One that sees the value in real personal connections and trust. In safety and individual care/concern. It won't go on about the education philosophy other than it is true and authentic Montessori. The same things I remember fondly about my Montessori experience, I see happening with our Daughter. She has never not wanted to go to school, she comes home happy and full of delightful stories everyday. The teachers and administration are involved in many additional areas of the school which fosters a strong sense of community and the idea that no one is too above any individual task at the school. The students learn important, real life skills such as balancing a bank statement starting in first grade! They have jobs and responsibilities and really learn what it takes to be a productive memeber of society. The mentorship between older and younger students is amazing. We are still a current family and will continue to be until she ages out of the program. Both our child, as well as ourselves have made important, lifelong connections within this community that we are grateful for everyday. I appreciate having a daily conversation with her teachers and being surrounded by families with similar ideals. There is amazing diversity on campus and we really appreciate that as well. One of our favorite activities is the grace and courtesy program. It is focused on community and global awareness, kindness, and good deeds. We all know the world needs more of that! Thank you MMS, for loving our Daughter (and us). We are grateful for everything that you have done.

I love this school. My older daughter - 5 years old - has been at this school for two years. At four years old, she was learning basic addition - not because she's some kind of rocket scientist, but because she was interested in numbers and at MMS your child is never "held back" to wait for everyone else to catch up - they get the individual attention they need to run towards knowledge as fast as they want to pursue it. I also love that they encourage independence, helpfulness, and frankly a retro version of childhood that includes no screen time, getting down-and-dirty with nature, and children learning to deal with issues independently. My second daughter started here, and I pulled her out because she wasn't ready. Ms. Mohktari was very supportive about the school trying to work with her, but they were also very honest that it would not be a good match for her to be part-time at MMS and part-time at a daycare. I observed, in that situation, in trying to do what is best by the parent, the student, and the teacher, the principal chose to suggest what she believed was best for the child - despite the teacher's objections. When other commenters discuss staff turnover, I can see staff feeling unsupported, but administrators are frequently between a rock and a hard place on these kinds of issues, and I like that the principal has the courage to err on the side of what's best for the student even if it is at the objection of the parent or staff. As to the staff "making fun of" the students - this is a system where they build up children's self-esteem so that we are creating children who can learn to laugh at themselves, and to understand and accept themselves as flawed. I have watched my very serious daughter learn to relax when she makes mistakes and even joke about it, and the gentle teasing is a part of that process. Overall, I have found this school to be excellent academically (for the right child, passive learners will probably not do well in a Montessori in general) and it aligns with my parenting philosophy in allowing children to have a more independent, less structured, and nature-oriented childhood.
