Great Schools you need to update your information, because the school does quite well across state standards. I also can't speak to some of the older reviews, but the school is nothing as described. The principal, teachers, and staff are very approachable and friendly and they all care about the well-being and success of each and every child. There are many activities to challenge minds, as well as activities for the students to have fun and get to know their peers. PTA is very active and tries to include all and increase membership to reflect the student body, as well as to bring new voices and fresh ideas for the benefit of all. Many go on to have great academic "careers" through middle school, high school, and beyond.

My experience at this school was ok. There were no standout moments from the events at the school to the teachers enthusiasm and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure your child is prepared for the next grade level. I agree with another reviewer about the parents being standoffish to students of diverse backgrounds. The one plus of the school is the music program. My child has learned to play several instruments. For the taxes you pay to own a house in Lynbrook the district needs to do 100% better.

This school is not diverse and if your child is not a child of color they will feel very alienated. The parents especially are very prejudice and cliquish. I took my child out and sent them to a more diverse district.

My children go to this school. I have only had good experiences here at Marion St. Being a very involved member of the PTA I take offense to the review regarding exclusion of certain newcomers. There is nothing further from the truth. We are a very welcoming community to everyone. We welcome all parents who can and want to volunteer with our numerous events. Maybe if you got involved you might make some friends for yourself and for your children.

I agree with the other two reviews for children with special needs. The school offers the most minimal support it can for a child who needs help. The faculty is not interested in learning new strategies to help children and only rely on old programs which do not benefit our children. I also found resistance with my child's entire team and especially the Director of Special Education. Although children want playdates with other children, the parents snub other kids not in thier crowd. This district should broaden their horizons and perform research that would help all children succeed, no matter what their disability.
