This is a small but very effective school. I've sent two children here over the past 8 years, and I think it has gotten even stronger over that time. There are innovative curricular programs and teachers that care deeply about students. The school district is a hidden gem.I was initially concerned that students go to middle school in 4th grade, but it actually makes the elementary school more focused on the younger students, and the middle school does a good job of separating the 4th/5th grades from the more traditionally-aged middle schoolers (6th-8th).

I feel My son has had every opportunity to shine. I think the administration and programs are great. I think the board definitely has the best Interests of our children in mind.

Really, nice village school, close-knit community and thriving kids. The school hosts K-3rd grade and that keeps the school small, personable and focused on the first years of the students education. Principal and teachers open-minded, solution-oriented and supports the children s individuality while providing a great foundation for every child s further education. I do not mind that the cut-off to middle school is at 4th grade, I believe it helps make the elementary school a safe and nurturing environment for the young students, as a 4th grader most kids are comfortable in the school setting and ready for new challenges.

I was very impressed with this school. The principal is progressive. The student body is diverse. The classrooms foster creativity, discussion, reading and writing. I'd send my kids here in a heartbeat. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the school only hosts K-3rd grade. 4th grade is too early to make the jump to middle school (which this district requires).

GWL UFSD is a wonderful community of great teachers, students, and families! We help in times of need (food, clothing, disasters, loss of life). We celebrate the community, our love for our country, and the world community...Education is very important to the community. The school district strives to provide an education for all our students.
