P.S. 101 the Verrazano

Bullying and student safety are not taken seriously by the administration. Their bureaucratic efficiency is incredibly low, and teachers prioritize 'keeping the peace' over protecting students. Issues are continuously minimized rather than resolved.

As a parent, I can honestly say this school has provided a positive and supportive environment for my child. The staff is caring, attentive, and truly invested in helping students grow both academically and personally.The school maintains strong communication with families and creates a welcoming atmosphere where students feel encouraged and motivated to succeed. I’ve seen tremendous growth in my child’s confidence, learning, and overall happiness since attending this school.The administration and teachers work hard every day to ensure students are safe, challenged, and supported. We are grateful to be part of a school community that genuinely cares about its students and families.

The biggest disadvantage of this school is that homework is OPTIONAL- which is a big setback in learning. Also students almost don’t bring anything home no paperwork, no notebooks! And no tests!! So if a child is failing on tests, you can’t really help them to improve! Some teachers are just careless about the students success
